Happy New Year and Welcome Back. Week 1 is in the books and we are excited to have everyone back and kick off the new semester and year. This week's picture is from our K-8 front office. With the new year comes new members to our Tustin Connect Family. I would like to welcome our new families and welcome back to those returning as well. We are excited to share 2020 with you all and look forward to a productive year together. Continue to reach out with any questions, concerns or opportunities to better support you all. We've got something very special at Tustin Connect and I look forward to sharing the journey with you all.

Congrats! YOU DID IT!

Semester 1 for our 6-12 students and the halfway point for our K-5 students has arrived. It is amazing to think we are this far along in the year. Thank you to all of the students, parents, teachers, and staff for a great first half. As you can see from the picture above, our HS finals were pretty crowded. The students did great thanks to their hard work, their families and our TEACHERS!

Message from our Leadership Students

Our leadership class is collecting fabric to create pouches for the joeys displaced by the Australian wildfires. Acceptable fabrics are made of cotton or linen, NO POLYESTER. If you are interested, please send all donations to the Front Office or directly to Room 30 at the high school campus. The students are planning on sewing pouches January 16th so please try to send donations by that date. If you would like to sew pouches to donate, here are the directions. Thank you so much for helping our leadership class make a difference! - Mrs. Fairburn

Upcoming Important Dates

Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday--No school Monday, January 20

President's Day Holidays - No School February 10 and February 17

Spring Break--Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20

Transfer Window Opening Monday, January 13th

TUSD's Transfer Window begins on Monday and runs through January 31st. What this means for our K-8 campus is an increase in traffic around the school and to the back portable, P11. Additional staff along with a full-time staff member during school hours will be on site. Please allow extra time to get to class during this time. Traffic will subside as we get later into the transfer window, but wanted to let you all know.

TUSD Parent Workshop - Using Rewards and Consequences

The workshop will be held for elementary and middle school parents on Wednesday, January 15, at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room at Orchard Hills School, 11555 Culver Drive, Irvine. Parents will learn strategies they can utilize when implementing a reward/consequence system for their children.

Measure N Information

TUSD schools rank among the best in the State. We focus every day on helping students thrive. However, our elementary and middle schools are aging with many over 50 years old. Although well maintained, these schools require significant upgrades and repairs after decades of constant use. Over the past two years , TUSD built a Facilities Master Plan with direct input from over 600 school stakeholders while engaging and informing thousands of residents. Reminder High School Students Utilize Grade Slam

Please remember to take advantage of Grade Slam for your academic courses including prior submission for all of your essays as well as support with English, Math and Science classes. It's an incredible resource. Be sure to use it! For your convenience, we've included a parent and student handout as well.
