Ideas for Successful Partnerships
You Are the Expert!
It's hard to let someone into your room! It's even harder to come up with reasons why having a "coach" work with you is worth your time. You are the expert! You know what your kids need. Let me help you put your ideas into motion! Here are some ways we can work together.
Email me if you'd like to work together, even if it's not an idea listed here!
Unit Planning
Go through your reading or writing unit and create a calendar plan of the sessions for the team. Align sessions with our MO Learning Standards. Think about the biggest bang for our buck. Think about what our kids need and match instruction.
If/Then Unit Planning
Maybe you have questions about why these units are available, how can you do these units, or even how can you make it more fun for kids. We can look at a future If/Then unit and customize it for your grade level.
Student Outcomes
What is something your students are struggling with? We can work together to design a series of lessons to help students reach their goals.
All this Data!
We can work together to look at your student data in reading (Galileo, Pre/Post Tests, Running Records) or writing (On Demands, works in progress). We work together to narrow the focus to best meet the needs of your students.
Learning Progressions for Student Ownership
Help students see and understand what is expected of them in reading and writing. We can look at the progressions for your unit and build in time for kids to analyze their own progress towards the goals. We can identify ways to build these progressions into your weekly lessons.
Technology Ideas
With so many cool ways to use 365 in the classroom, we can identify ways to use speech-to-text tools for writing and editing, record students reading for fluency, or even take a risk and try out digital portfolio ideas using SeeSaw.
