Important iPad Information Regarding YouTube
Some families have inquired about ways to block YouTube on their child's iPad. If you would like YouTube blocked on your child's iPad, please fill out the survey below. It may take approximately one week for the settings to go into effect after the survey is completed. Please note, if you choose to disable YouTube on your child's device, they will not be able to access any teacher assigned videos that may be used in their classroom.

PAWS Time
On Thursday, February 1st, HMS students explored the new monthly theme of empathy. Students listened to the book “Strictly No Elephants,” written by Lisa Mantchev, and read by Mrs. Kibbe! Classes discussed the importance of inclusion, and how to help when friends are feeling left out. Then, students created their own “clubhouses” where everyone would feel welcome.
In an effort to continuously improve the Enfield Public Schools we would appreciate your candid feedback.
HMS PAWSitive ImPACKt Awards
Every Friday, our teachers nominate students and staff who have gone the extra mile to display our PAWS expectations. This week, we recognized Tucker (19), Xila (10), Austin (20), Jeihlani (18), Samuel (8), Sehazdeep (K3), Constantine (15), Van (12), Michele (19), Mason (K5), Mrs. Venoutsos, Layla (16), Keyzaris (K6), Beau (K6), Ryan (13) and Willa (10) for their hard work! Keep up the great work everyone!
We filled our bucket!!
Congratulations to Rooms 10, K2, K5, K6, and 18 who filled their classroom buckets this week!
Keep up the great work! We have many classrooms who are close to filling their buckets and know that all of our HMS students will keep working hard showing our PAWS expectations every day! When classrooms fill their buckets, they earn a class reward. Some examples of rewards we have seen so far this year: PJ day, Stuffed Animal Day, Fort Day, and extra recess.

Cold Weather Update
As the weather begins to get colder, please make sure that your child is wearing clothing appropriate for playing outside at recess such as coats, hats, and gloves. Please help us in making sure that your child is able to enjoy recess time with their class by ensuring that they have appropriate dress to be outside in colder temperatures.
Reminders from the Nurse
A few reminders about our school health protocols for when children should not attend school.
1. Students are always sent home from school with a temperature greater than 100 degrees, active diarrhea or vomiting, or a suspected contagious disease.
2. Students must be without fever, vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.
If you have any questions about particular issues or protocols for students who should or should not attend school, our nurse is happy to answer those for you! She can be reached at 860-763-7502.
Thank you for your help in helping us stay healthy!
