Farewell Ms Franklin
We are very appreciative of the time we have had with Nell. Nell is one of the most stunning beginning teachers we have had here at IPS. Nell epitomises our REACH values in all she does. Nell is a quiet, effective leader of learning and contributes immensely to the wide school culture in many and varied ways.
Nell has been a key leader of our; Year Book, Dinner Dance and sport over the three years she has been here. Thank you Nell for choosing Inglewood primary School to start your craft as an educator - we have been truly blessed.

Principal Update
I am deeply saddened to share that as of end of business today, I will not be back at school for full days for the rest of the school calendar year. I absolutely love this part of the year as we celebrate together the success of all.
Monday 30 November, I am required to have major surgery in Wellington. As a family we are positive and very happy with the response from our Public Health system.
In working with the Ministry of Education and the Board of Trustees, I can share that Mrs Fiona Parkinson is coming in as Relief Principal for the time I am absent.
Fiona is an experienced former Principal of Devon Intermediate, Hawera intermediate and a number of other schools. Fiona's current role is working in schools supporting Principals and also works with Waikato University with Pre Teacher Education placements.
I am very grateful for the wonderful supportive staff, BoT and ParentLink alongside the supportive parents and wider community of IPS. My one wish for the remaining three weeks of term for all within our school community, is that we join together, step up and ensure our tamariki, staff and whanau are celebrated for being amazing humans, accomplishing extraordinary things throughout, what has been a VERY challenging year indeed.
A reminder if you do have a concern and require assistance, please continue to follow our Communication Flow Chart;
See the teacher, if not satisfied,
see the Team Leaders, if not satisfied,
see a Senior Leader, if not satisfied,
see the principal, if not satisfied,
put your concerns in writing to the Board of Trustees.
I have full confidence in the IPS Staff and know the school continues to be in good hands as the year continues to challenge us all.
I will miss seeing the Year 8's graduate at next week's Dinner Dance. This event is hugely important to me and it will be the first i have missed in 17 years. Hopefully I can get some live stream action videos. The REACH Celebration is next Thursday and I wish everyone here a fun time. For the final assemblies, I wish to thank you all in advance for all you do for our school and wider community. A school of our size cannot run on staff alone. Many thanks to the wonderful volunteers and outside agencies who contribute each and every day to the many and varied learning opportunities.
I hope you all have a very successful end of year, festive season, if you have one, and summer holiday ahead. I look forward to reconnecting with you in 2021.
nga mihi, arohanui o te whanau

Marinoto Visit - Panitahi O'Connor
In early November, Panitahi O’Connor students had another wonderfully successful visit to their friends at Marinoto Rest Home. Children sang, danced, recited poems, gave speeches, said pepeha and shared a Teddy Bears’ picnic with residents. We delivered handmade cards and were given beautiful teddy-bear puppets made by residents. The loving friendships formed were evident in the delight on both children’s and residents’ faces.
After our visit, the Diversional Therapist at Marinoto wrote:
“Our residents have thoroughly enjoyed every visit we get. It means so much to me as a Diversional Therapist to see smiles on their faces when the children come to play and perform and just to have a conversation with them. Your children are so polite and gentle natured and our residents have loved seeing them throughout the year. Thank you and your amazing students for the vibrant energy and all the effort they put into coming to visit us.”

Kelly Sports
Looking for something to do with your child from 4.30pm-6.30pm for the next 8 weeks. Bring a picnic mat, have a natter with other adults, while your child comes and plays! If you have a 5 - 12 year old - let them come and have a play in the park! We will have all sorts of equipment out that they can come and have a go with.
You just need to sign your child in, sit back and watch from your picnic mat while our Kelly Sports Taranaki coaches have gear available to play with. We really look forward to seeing you there!
