A Message from the Principal
Hello Geneva Heights!!!
I hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend. Our Cougar staff is finally complete with the addition of our new Assistant Principal Mrs. Ana Williams. We introduced her to families on Friday's Coffee with the Principal event. Please take a few moments to read her introduction. She is a great addition to our administrative team and we look forward to her contributions and leadership with Geneva Heights.
This week I had the opportunity to meet with families on a couple of occasions. We met virtually on Monday evening to share campus data and begin identifying campus needs for our Campus Improvement Plan. There are links to surveys in this weeks SMORE that provide our families opportunities to share their ideas. As mentioned earlier, we also held our first Coffee with the Principal on Friday and discussed our Parent Compact and Involvement for the 2023/2024 school year. These are great events for families and admin to come together and continue building partnerships for Geneva Heights and ensure that our Cougar scholars have the best experience in and out of the classroom.
I want to thank all our parent volunteers that have taken time out of their schedules to help monitor our cafeteria. We encourage everyone to take these opportunities when your schedule allows, as it is a great way to meet your Cougar's classmates. Also, I want to thank Mrs. Assar for getting our mobile library underway for the school year. Being on a temporary campus has its challenges but Geneva Heights is never short of people reaching out and doing what is best for our students. I wish everyone a wonderful week!

Our Newest Cougar!
Hello Geneva Heights Cougars!
My name is Ana Williams, and I am your new Assistant Principal. I was born and raised in Spain until I moved here to attend college. My husband Steve and I have 2 children: Angela (16) and Regan (11). We love spending time as a family and playing with our puppies.
I started my professional career teaching Spanish at the High School level, helping secondary students learn to love the language and culture. After my daughter was born, I stayed home with her while I worked on my master's degree in Linguistics. At that point, I decided to complete my teaching certification in bilingual education. I taught second and third grade level in a dual language school in Wylie ISD. During my time there, I also completed my Principal Certification. After six years in Wylie ISD, I moved to Rockwall ISD where I served as the ESL/Title III specialist and Assistant Principal.
I am very excited to start my 12th year in education here at Geneva Heights Elementary as your Assistant Principal. In the coming months, I look forward to meeting and engaging with each and every one of you. Your unique perspectives and contributions are vital to the success of our school community. Together, we will create an environment where innovation, respect, and a passion for learning flourish.
Thank you for entrusting me with this important role. Let us make this academic year one of growth, achievement, and memorable experiences for all.
