Bulldog Group Therapy Spotlight
Do you know the difference between empathy and sympathy? Brene Brown uses this quick video to help people learn the difference, and it has Spanish subtitles. While I do not recommend watching this with your student because some of her examples are for grownups, I do recommend talking through the concepts with your student as well as being aware of how you respond when they are struggling. It is a growing opportunity for all of us. Build connections with others by being present and listening!

The Principal's Pound
This week was amazing for me to see the students learning in action. One class was learning about African Americans who inspire us. I had another student rush to see me in my office in between meetings to show me how she can read. Another student created posters for a call to action to recycle. All of these moments warmed my heart because prior to coming to NSAE learning was not happening. These students are constantly growing in their ability to regulate their emotions, so they can excel at academics! Please share in the excitement with your student when they come home and talk about their day - they are moving mountains over at NSAE!
As always, please let me know how I can help you as an individual or family, so we can be the best supportive team for your student!
Enjoy your week ahead!
