WELCOME JENNIFER BERG
Mrs. Jennifer Berg has assisted as an aide with our fourth grade students and often subs for our teachers. We welcome her to the St. Viator teaching staff as she began working with our students as a technology teacher. Welcome Mrs. Berg, we are happy to have you!
WELCOME KIERSTEN PASKAL
Mrs. Paskal joined our Learning Support Team working with Mrs. Silvestri. She meets with students weekly providing academic learning support for our students 1:1 and in small groups. She has also begun working with our students teaching technology! Welcome Mrs. Paskal!
FAREWELL AND GOOD LUCK, LEVANNA CORTEZ
We have all enjoyed working with Mrs. Cortez in the technology lab this school year! She has worked tirelessly with our students at every grade level to create an engaging technology curriculum. Mrs. Cortez has left St. Viator for a teaching position in Hawaii. We wish her the best of luck and we are so grateful for her time and dedication to our technology program. She is actively working with Mrs. Paskal and Mrs. Berg as they transition into their new roles!
SUMMER ASTRONOMY CAMP AT UNLV
Attention 5-8th grade parents: A new astronomy summer camp for middle school students will begin at UNLV this summer. The camp has four sessions, each for one week from 9am through 4pm. It is open to students who have completed 5th grade and have not started 9th grade (graduating 8th graders are welcome).
If you think that your student may be interested, look for information at the Astronomy Camp Website: www.campcosmos.space
TERRIFIC THIRD GRADERS
Third Grade read the much-loved story Charlotte’s Web and and enjoyed discussing the themes of selflessness and friendship To make this year’s study extra special, the students created a diorama and wrote a paragraph explaining why the spider Charlotte was a true friend to Wilbur the pig. The Third Graders did a terrific job!
5TH GRADE FIELD TRIP TO VALLEY OF FIRE
Both fifth grades enjoyed a wonderful trip to Valley of Fire on Thursday! They learned a lot from the ranger who also taught them to be observant and appreciative of nature and history.
8A VOLUNTEERS AT PROJECT 150
Eighth graders from 8A went out into our community and helped a non profit organization called Project 150.
Project 150’s mission is to provide free support and services to homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students so they can remain in school, graduate, and build bright futures.
Our students were able to help students, like themselves, by organizing, sorting, cleaning and restocking the Project 150 items at their location. Students saw quickly how much a little of their time can go a long way, and how fun and fulfilling it can be. The students lived the Viatorian mission and put their values of social justice into action.
We will go back over the next few weeks with the rest of 8th grade and 7th grade.

Thank you to all that volunteered and helped organize this wonderful service. We have an amazing community at St Viator School!
PROJECT 150 NEEDS YOUR HELP
Over the next month our Junior high students will be volunteering their time for a non profit organization called Project 150 which helps homeless, displaced and disadvantaged high school students.
They are in need of hygiene and food, as well as any clothing items. If you would like to help out by donating any of the items listed on their wish list our students will deliver the items over the following weeks. Volunteering and giving is a very valuable life lesson for our students, so any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
If you feel compelled to donate you can drop items off at the Parish Center attention to Jamie Reyburn.
Thank you for supporting our Viatorian community!

VIATOR PARISH TUITION RATE REMINDER
The most significant criteria to qualify for the Viator Parish rate is regular attendance at Sunday Mass using your envelopes.
In order to qualify for the Viator rate you MUST:
- Attend a minimum of 26 masses (Saturday or Sunday)
- Use the envelopes sent to you from the church
- Forgot your envelope? Remember your parish number and use a blank envelope provided at mass.
DO NOT
- Mail in your envelopes to St. Viator church. These will not be counted.
- Drop off your envelope in the church on a school mass day.
- Forgetting the envelope and telling the church or school you went.
Tuition review will happen end of November and you should have 13 or more masses by this time. All rates will be reviewed and possibly adjusted after the assessment. If your rate is adjusted it will be reflected on the December statement. Please DO NOT call or email the school office or church office to ask if changes are being made until after the receipt of your statement.
Remember, parents are a model of faith for their children and when families join us on a regular basis they are showing their children the priority faith and church has in their lives.
