Slaybaugh School Complex
Week of November 1, 2020
Principal's Message
Dear Slaybaugh Families,
We hope that you are enjoying this four day break with your families and taking this as a good opportunity to reset and refresh. Hybrid learning has continued on with a sense of excitement, as we are thrilled to see students back in the building. We are also looking forward to welcoming more students back as they transition from virtual to hybrid on November 16th.
Just a reminder to all in-person students, current and upcoming, please continue to adhere to all health and safety protocols to keep everyone safe. Please remember to always wear your mask, maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet, and wash your hands regularly. Also, please do not send your student to school if they have been in direct contact with someone who is COVID positive or are personally experiencing COVID like symptoms.
Since school is closed for this long weekend, the following is VERY important. When you fill out the daily health screening, there is a question regarding travel to an area of high community transmission. Should your child travel to an area on New Jersey’s Travel Advisory List (linked), it is the expectation of the EHT School District that your child quarantine for the required 14 days upon return to NJ. The NJ Travel advisory website states, “the self-quarantine is voluntary, but compliance is expected.” We appreciate the individual efforts to help keep the health and safety of the whole school in tact to continue in-person learning.
For the month of November, our Renaissance character word of the month is Good Citizenship. We look forward to discussing this topic with students and looking out for students who are demonstrating this trait. Again, enjoy this time off and we look forward to seeing Group A back in the building on Tuesday. Take care and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Joe Marinelli

Flu shots are mandatory for children in Pre-K under the age of 5 by December 31. Flu shots are recommended for everyone though so please consider getting a flu shot as soon as possible to cover your child for the entire season. Please let Nurse Liz know when your child has received their flu shot.
Thank you in advance !
