June 16 Newsletter

Friday, June 16
The Class of 2023 graduated last Saturday with much celebration. It was a time for our students, their families, and friends to reflect on the past four years and look forward to new opportunities and adventures. We are proud of our 386 graduates, who will continue the Purple Knight legacy.
Summer School: Our district offers summer school and dozens of athletic camps. Summer School begins on Tuesday, June 20th, but you can still sign-up and have your child(ren) participate throughout June as the deadline to register has been extended. Please stop in at Fruzen Middle School for our 4K through 8th-grade program or at Aldrich Middle School for our high school program. Our Summer School guides will provide lots of information on our summer sessions. Our Community Hub webpage highlights all our camps and community events and programming.
2023-2024 School Year Registration: Registration for returning students will take place in July. In-person registration is available on Tuesday, July 11th, and Thursday, July 13th, in the Beloit Memorial High School cafeteria. We have a great staff ready to help register your child(ren) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day. Online registration will also be available beginning on July 11th.
My next newsletter will be on Friday, July 7th. In the interim, our principals will communicate and keep in touch with you through their newsletters and summer family engagement events. Take time to relax and unplug – get outdoors and enjoy the good weather.
In service,
Dr. Willie E. Garrison II
Superintendent, School District of Beloit

Along with our high-quality curriculum, our free program includes a healthy breakfast and lunch, snacks, and lots of interactive activities with outdoor time and field trips. Research supports that a strong summer school program can positively affect student academic achievement and provide a jump-start for the start of the school year. With our small class sizes, supports aligned to student needs, and exceptional instruction, your child(ren) will have a summer of fun with successful growth and learning.
