Remember that school will be closed Monday, Jan. 17th in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. School resumes Tuesday, Jan. 18th.

Report cards went home last week for K-8th. If you did not receive your child’s report card, please check your FACTS account. You may have a report card hold due to an outstanding balance OR incorrect email address entered in your family info.

Students in 1st-8th have begun their MAP assessments. Classroom teachers will let you know when your student’s class will be taking them. Please avoid scheduling appointments on these days, and make sure your child is well-rested, has a nutritious breakfast, and is on time for school (as they should every day). Please make sure headphones are in your child’s bag or at school (1st-8th grade).

We had temperatures that dropped down into the negative “feels like” recently, yet many students came to school with bare legs and no jacket. Please make sure your child is properly dressed for the cold weather. That means leggings, long pants, and coats. While we do not have outdoor recess when the “feels like” temperature is below freezing, you never know when there could be a reason for students to be outside for extended periods of time (think dismissal, fire drills, etc). Frostbite can happen in minutes, depending on the weather conditions.

This semester we will be cracking down on dress code violations. Too short of a skirt or shorts? Time to get replacements. Socks with designs, colors, logos, or no-show? Time to buy a bulk supply that fits the dress code. Leave the makeup, nail polish and non-compliant jewelry at home. Belts are required with pants/shorts unless your child is in Kindergarten or 1st grade. After a verbal warning, students will receive infractions that will eventually result in loss of privilege. See the handbook for details about the dress code.

Registration for enrolling our current Eagles is just around the corner! Families will receive enrollment information by mid-week.

New student application window is OPEN! Siblings of current students should apply at this time to receive preference in the review process. ALL new applications must be completed and submitted online with a $25 application fee. We will begin reviewing applications for new students in late February, and send notification upon acceptance.

If you have friends and family who may be interested in sending their students to St. Eugene, tell them what you love about our school! They may visit our Admissions page and fill out an application or inquiry to schedule a tour with our Eagle Ambassador. Don’t forget that if you successfully refer a new family, you may be eligible for a tuition credit. Details coming soon.

The CSSE Athletic Commission is looking for a volunteer Track Coordinator. Duties will include helping organize our school track meet as well as coordinating students who opt to participate in the CGSAA meet this spring, please contact CSSE Athletic Director Dave Frame if you are interested. This will count as Time & Talent hours.

Please fill out this form if your student is interested in playing CGSAA soccer this spring. This is NOT registration to play.

CGSAA Soccer is for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Volunteer coaches work with teams to create a practice schedule (meeting 1-2 times per week) with games on Saturday or Sunday at local fields. Practices generally start in mid-March with games in April and May.

Help us fund needs and projects of our school & parish by dedicating a few hours each month to our Gala Planning Committee! We are currently looking for volunteers that want to have fun and help plan our annual school and parish spring gala! Committee members will fulfill a variety of roles including decorating, helping create/coordinate class baskets for auction, marketing, securing sponsorships, acquiring auction items, helping with ticket sales, and more. We are always looking for guest teachers and classroom subs. If you are interested in joining our list of on call substitutes, please let Mrs. Goldsworthy know. There have been very few school days this year when we have not needed someone to fill in somewhere!

This year the Archdiocesan schools will be out of school for MLK Jr. Day. We are planning to have our annual Day of Service later in the school year. Look for the date to be announced in early 2022!

Freezer Meal Fundraiser - We have a great fundraiser through the month of January. You can purchase delicious meal starter kits from a local source - Easy Freezy Freezer Meals on N. Penn! When you place an order through the fundraiser page, choose "St. Eugene Catholic School PTO" as your shipping option. This will ensure that we can keep track of all the money WE make! That drop down menu shows up right before the payment page. Unfortunately everything has to be shipped and can't be picked up at the store. One less errand for us to run. Win/Win tp save yourself time and help earn our school some money!

Fr. Wolf is back! Fr. Wolf has returned from sabbatical, and we are so glad to have him back as our pastor! We pray he feels refreshed and ready for many more years of pastoral service! We want to thank Fr. Vic for taking on the additional pastoral duties in the parish for the past 6 months. He has been a blessing, and we are grateful for his care, attention, and time. He will be taking a well-earned vacation next month before returning to us with a renewed body and spirit!
