Leadership Message
Dear St. Luke Families,
We had a full week coming back from Fall break. This week we had a chance to reflect on the service projects the students were involved in before the break. Students raised money for the Veterans as well as the No Stone Left Alone organization bringing our attention to the service of our Canadian military. Together we raised over $300.00! Way to Go St. Luke! We are busy planning our next social justice projects which will take place during the Advent season.
This week as well a few presentations were brought into the school including the Saffron Center. The presentation's for our Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 4 students focused on personal space and personal boundaries. We will be bringing the Saffron Center back into the school for the Grade 5 - 8 Presentations on Internet Safety.
I have included a letter from our Central Leaving Services on our upcoming Catholic School Review. I encourage you all to take some time to complete the survey as your responses help guide the direction of St. Luke.
Have a wonderful weekend!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dear Parents of St. Luke School Community,
During the 1st week of December (December 6-8) , we will be conducting a Catholic School Review in your school community. The purpose of this process of gathering, analyzing and synthesizing information is to assist in strengthening the School Education Assurance Plan that continues to move and improve your school in the area of Catholicity. Our ultimate goal is to support faith formation and impact student learning.
This process involves gathering data and evidence through surveys, interviews, documentation reviews, and general observations. To make this a success, we need your assistance.
What can you do to help us with the process?
Talk to your children about their school experience and how they can contribute to the process by speaking with the review team or by taking a survey during this week. All grade 4 to grade 8 students will be surveyed and some of them will be chosen to be interviewed.
Let us know if you would be willing to have a short interview with a member of the team. This can be conducted in person or by phone during the day and into the early evening.
As a St. Luke parent, please take time to fill out the parent survey at:
https://forms.gle/oe8uPXX4KNgdw87C6
The survey is now available until 9 a.m. December 4th, 2023.
If you have any questions or concerns about the process, please contact your school administration or contact me at 587-745-2012 or by email at therese.decgood@eics.ab.ca.
Yours In Catholic Education,

Mo-Vember, 2023
What is Movember? The Movember campaign is a movement which was created to promote men's health. The Movember movement is all about bringing back the mustache, having FUN, having important conversations and raising awareness and funds for men's health. Men use the power of the “MO”…to create conversations about the men’s health and encourage other men to go get a physical. Mark the date, Nov 23rd the school will show support for Movember by encouraging students to wear a mustache to school and will have a photo booth set up for students to take some silly photos!
Please consider sending a toonie or other charitable donation of choice for this great cause.

Fundraisers & Community Events
Christmas in the Country
St. Luke School Council and Parent Association, along with St. Luke Catholic School, is thrilled to once again be a participating venue in Strathcona County's annual Christmas in the Country event! This event enables our school council to provide student enrichment and volunteer opportunities within our school community.
Christmas in the Country is only two weeks away! We are very excited to once again be hosting this annual community event.
Come out and join us on Saturday, December 2nd from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Our St. Luke Worship Team will be performing Christmas songs at 11:00am and the day also includes more than 40 tables to peruse for those hard to buy for friends and family members, a craft corner to keep the kiddos busy while you shop and a concession featuring coffee, hot chocolate, hot dogs and other snacking items.
As always, entry is free. There will be a box available for Food Bank donations and the tree will be ready to receive mittens for our annual mitten tree. Donations will be dropped off to those in need.
These community events don't happen without help from you. We are still in need of several volunteers for the day. Please click the Survey Genius link below to lend your time in support of our students. https://www.signupgenius.com/.../10C0D45A5A723A7F5C61...
