Three Parkview Cross Country Athletes Break the 16:00 Minute Mark!
In a loaded field featuring 39 teams from six different states, Parkview's Cross-Country boys finished 14th overall and for the first time in over a decade placed 3 athletes below the coveted 16:00 mark as Kaleb Tesfaye (15:32), Solomon Mussie (15:50), and Abel Bizu (15:59) led the charge. Kaleb is now among the top 5 all-time in school history for the 5K. Anna Woods broke the 20:00 barrier for the first time in her career and was supported by Yesica Garcia and Jordan Seymour.

We Love Our Custodians!
Coach Wood Canned Food Drive
Each year, the Parkview Cross Country team participates in the Coach Wood Canned Food Drive, an initiative that is organized through the Southeast Gwinnett Co-Op. All canned/boxed goods go directly to the Co-Op which, in turn, directly benefits our surrounding community.
Over the years, we have collected nearly 3,000 canned foods to help those in need, and we are continuing the tradition this year! Between now and Friday, October 13, all canned/boxed goods can be brought to Coach Demarest's room - 10.126 by the media center or to the Main Office.

Recruitment week for DECA was an opportunity for many students to get a peek into what DECA is all about and have the chance to join. There were many activities planned throughout the week that were a huge successes. On Monday, it was Dress for Success in which we were able to see many people dress up professionally and get their signatures that were on the Dress for Success form. On Tuesday, it was the Kona Ice Social which resulted in a huge turnout of people who attended, where everyone just had fun and enjoyed some Kona Ice. On Wednesday, It was Post your favorite DECA memory on Instagram where we saw many people post on their stories with all of these fun and happy memories they have made through DECA. On Thursday, goodie bags were distributed that included a variety of items such as candy and laptop stickers. Lastly on Friday, it was wear an old DECA t-shirt where we got to see a huge variety of people, each with different DECA shirts. Also, the new DECA chapter t-shirts were given out to all paid DECA members on Friday. If you still haven’t gotten yours yet, and are a paid DECA member, come to the school store during your lunch period to receive yours!

District Assessments are developed to align to the Academic, Knowledge, and Skills (AKS) and GCPS instructional calendars in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. These assessments allow students to demonstrate what they know, understand, and are able to do and help teachers determine whether students are performing as expected or need additional support to be successful.

· Biology, Chemistry, and Physics: Friday, October 13th
· Algebra, Geometry, Accelerated Geometry, and Advanced Algebra: Monday, October 16th

Attendance Tip of the Week
Please Be on Time
Parents will now receive notification via PARENT SQUARE when their students are absent or tardy to their classes. Please use your ParentVue app to see what specific classes your student missed. The messages, and the ParentVue app are great tools to keep parents in the loop regarding their child’s attendance. As always, please remember school starts promptly at 7:15 am and students need to be on a campus a few minutes early to allow time to travel to their first period class and be on time.
