The California Department of Education encourages you to recognize October 16–20, 2023 as Digital Citizenship Week. This event is one of many efforts in California to build capacity for students and families to make safe, smart, and ethical decisions in the digital world. With the many digital resources out there, let's continue to encourage our students to use them responsibly.

We want to remind you about an important safety event taking place at Lincoln Middle School, the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill.

The safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities, and as part of our commitment to preparedness, we will be participating in the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill on 10/19 at 10:19am. This annual event is an excellent opportunity for our students to learn about earthquake safety and practice the necessary steps to protect themselves during an earthquake.

Parents, please keep in mind that during the drill, the campus will be shutdown and no students will be able to be checked out until the drill is over.

For parents who wish to help volunteer for supervision, you must complete a "Parent Eyes" training before doing so. I will be holding the next training on Wednesday October 18th at 10:00am through zoom. To access the meeting you may click on the link below.

Fun Fact: Love going to concerts and my favorite person to see in concert is Brenton Wood. I'm also always at the beach, I love the beach!

Our Lions continue to impress. After five weeks, our 7/8 grade flag football team and 6th grade volleyball team remain undefeated. Our 6th grade flag football team is 3-2 and 7/8 grade volleyball team is 2-3. No matter what the records are, our students are competing and representing Lincoln Middle School well! We're proud of you!

Our clubs list is out and we'd like to encourage our students to connect with school in any way they can. Below is the list to our current club offerings for this year.

The Talent Shows were filled with incredible performances and showcased the outstanding talents of our students. We want to express our gratitude to everyone who participated and attended, making it a memorable and enjoyable event. Special thanks to Mr. Rowe and ASB for putting this event together!

Parents, every Friday our PTSA will be selling morning treats to our students to help fundraise for our 8th grade activities. Please help support our efforts and enjoy some tasty treats!

Family Engagement and English Learner Programs

Parent Project:We are excited to offer Parent Project, a FREE program that helps teach parents and caregivers the skills necessary to manage behavioral challenges in teens. Led by mental health providers in collaboration with SMMUSD’s Family Engagement and EL Programs Office, SMPD Youth and Family Services Support Coordinator, and the Santa Monica Youth Resource Team, this program is geared for parents and caregivers of teens (12 & up). Sessions are in English and Spanish and will begin on October 23, with a culmination ceremony on December 4. Please share this flyer with your community.

ASB in partnership with PTSA will be putting on a Fall Festival on Friday, November 17th. Details are being worked out but it will be a time for our Lincoln community to come together and have a good time! More details to come!
