Message from Principal Hickox
January has been quite a whirlwind here at Huffman! We are happy to be able to continue in person learning, but we do have quite a few staff members and students absent on any given day. I appreciate everyone's support and understanding as we move through this challenging time.
As our case numbers hopefully slow down soon, we are looking forward to moving back to some more normal activities. We have our Family Skate Night coming up on January 28th, and we will have in person parent teacher conferences in February. It is always nice to have families back in the building.
We are also planning the return of two favorite events: Winter Sports Day and the Idid-Read program! I know that both of these events have been favorites at Huffman in the past and we are looking forward to having them happen this year. Stay tuned for more info coming soon.
I've heard several people asking about changes to the school year schedule and I want to assure our families that at this time, there are no changes to the school year calendar for this year. We will have a long weekend in February from the 18th-21st for an inservice day following conferences and President's Day. Third quarter will end for students on Thursday, March 3rd, as Friday, March 4th is an inservice day and the beginning of Spring Break. Students will return to school after break on March 14th.
As always, please contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or celebrations to share.
Respectfully,
Molly Hickox, Principal
