Dakota Hawks CI Softball Complete Their Season
The Dakota Hawks finished their season with a 3rd place finish at state this past weekend. On Friday night the Hawks narrowly defeated Osseo by a score of 3-2 in 7 innings to advance to the semi-finals. The first game on Saturday versus New Prague, the Hawks lost 7-10 after a last inning rally by the Hawks, scoring 4 runs in the 7th inning. In the last game for third place the Hawks narrowly defeated the Chanhassen/Chaska/Prior Lake/Shakopee Stars by a score of 10-9. Both the Stars and the Hawks switched leads throughout the contest. Super fun for everyone involved. Great ending to a successful season for sure.
Dakota United Hawks PI Softball - State Champions!
Congratulations to the Dakota United Hawks PI Softball team for their back to back State Titles. The weekend started out with a BYE in the first round, because of their unbeaten status during the season (10-0). On Saturday during the Semi Final game, they played against #3 Robbinsdale, and won the game in 5 innings, 12-2. The next game brought on the #2 Anoka squad, and was won in 7 innings 19-6. Starting Eastview students Charlie Henderson and Jordan Johnson, helped contribute to the team’s championship, alongside many other District 196 students. The Dakota United Softball team was not allowed to participate in a State Tournament because of the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020, and 2021. They played undefeated seasons in 2019, 2021, and 2022, and captured 2 State Championships. It was a great weekend for all of District 196, and we couldn’t be more proud of these student athletes.
