In observance of Veterans Day, there is no school on Friday, November 10th.

Respect their feelings, but don't empower them.

Validating feelings doesn't mean agreeing with them. So if a child is terrified about going to the doctor, do listen and be empathetic, but encourage them to feel that they can face their fears.

Berman suggests saying: "I know you feel scared to go to the doctor, AND I know that you can handle this." This validates their feeling of fear, but also inspires a sense of confidence in their ability to be brave.

The week of November 13th, STUCO is hosting a fundraiser for the HOPE Institute.

The HOPE Institute, opened in 2023, is a one-of-a-kind treatment center to address the mental health needs of students within the Chandler Unified School District. It is located at the corner of Queen Creek and Val Vista off the student parking lot of Perry House (1845 E. Queen Creek Rd. Gilbert, AZ 85297). More information can be found at

Thank you to The Sun Lakes Rotary Club for their annual visit to deliver free dictionaries to all our third-grade students. The Dictionary Project has been one of Sun Lakes Rotary Club’s most successful and rewarding projects. The project was started in 2003 and this year marks their 20th year of distributing dictionaries to all third graders in the Chandler Unified School District. The Rotary Club gives a small presentation and shows students where to find information. These dictionaries have resources, which include all the U.S. Presidents, planets, periodic table of elements, sign language, braille, maps of the continents, states, and other detailed information. The kids love them, and they learn about the Rotary Club and what the Rotary Club does for the community.

Today we honored and celebrated the many veterans that served our country and those that continue to serve. We all know that America stands for freedom and justice. Veterans have sacrificed their time, well-being and ultimately their lives to protect the things we love about our country. We are forever grateful and appreciative of these sacrifices. Thank you to our entire community for sharing in our celebration and for all the volunteers that helped make this day so special including our students and staff that provided all of the beautiful artwork and decorations. We truly have the most amazing community!

Fire Pal Scott and Fire Pal Ryan of the Chandler Fire Department visited our 1st and 2nd Grade classes to discuss fire safety at home. Students learned the importance of having smoke detectors and calling 911. Fire Pal Ryan showed students all the gear firefighters wear, some students were lucky enough to try on his helmet.

Mrs. Fyke's class made special lamps called 'deepa' to celebrate Diwali the Festival of Lights

Admission is $5.00, which includes skate rental. Parents who aren't skating are only $2.00.

A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
