A Note From Our Nurse
Covid-19 Close Contact Students
The school district has new rules so kids who become close contacts can remain in school following these 3 requirements:
1. Be symptom free and monitor Covid symptoms for 14 days.
2. Wear a mask for 14 days.
3. Test with antigen tests or molecular tests.
The first test is done when a student is notified that he/she has been a close contact, and then again 5-7 days later. The tests can be done at school with parent/guardian permission. If the student has been positive with Covid-19 in the last 90 days and is symptom free, testing is not recommended.
The at-home Covid test kits are the antigen tests which require tests on day 1 and then 36-48 hours later. These tests are being widely sold in pharmacies and major stores and the district is now accepting antigen tests.
Our winter break is around the corner and in time for a much needed break for us all to play and just chill. Many of you will be gathering with friends and family. Perhaps flying internationally or domestically (lucky you). These at home Covid tests can be very useful if you have any concerns.
Happy Holidays!!
Nurse Yoly
