Principal's Message...
It was another fantastic week at Tustin Connect as we head into our final week before Thanksgiving Break. We are super excited to announce the initial meeting of our Parent University. Over a series of 6 meetings, parents will learn about topics from Effective Study Strategies to Helping Your Child Regulate Their Emotions and lots of great topics in between. Please check out the flyer and register today.
If you hadn't heard the news, PICTURE DAY is December 2nd at the K-8 and at the High School campuses. You'll be able to drop in anytime on December 2nd from 8:30-1:00 to have your picture taken. This is the picture used for school IDs, the yearbook, and Aeries. Please make plans to drop by during the window.
Also, if you haven't had a chance, this is the last chance to vote for School Site Council. We have 3 members and need our families to vote for them. We have one more opening if you are interested.
As always, if you have any questions, compliments, ideas, and/or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out at (714) 430-2052 ext. 52103 or efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us.

PTA's Weekly Rundown!
Hello Maverick Families,
Here’s your PTA Roundup for the week.
THANK YOU, ROOM PARENTS! Thank you to all our room parents who have stepped in to coordinate with your teachers on a class event, appreciation days, and fun activities for your class! As well, thank you Linda Ly for your guidance here.
THANK YOU, SENIOR PARENTS! We have a wonderful group of parents who have stepped in to make this year in their senior’s life a memorable one! A huge thank you to Kayti Zayas, Debby Simpson, Kim Spurgeon, Tamela Dioso, and Hilda Betsy Torres!
THANK YOU MAVERICK FAMILIES!
You have raised $6,220.00 this fall! Our PTA is encouraged and motivated to work harder for you. These funds will allow us along with your teachers and Principal Fineberg to budget in areas that will be most effective in your student’s educational experience.
SUPER AWESOME SPIRIT WEAR will be arriving within the next few days. Keep an eye out for the distribution procedure coming next week.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Your PTA
Elementary Information
In-Person: If your student would like to attend in person, please let your teacher know. You can come in or change your mind anytime. Check out the weekly schedule for dates and times.
Report Cards Accessible: On Friday, November 19th at 4:30 pm, parents will be able to view student report cards via Aeries. If you have requested a hard copy, they will be mailed out on 11/19.
Room Parents: Each of our classrooms has room parents. They are your go-to if you'd like to connect with other students in your class or learn more about ways you can get involved. If you don't know the name or contact information for your room parent, your teacher can provide that.
Middle School Information
PAL Pajama Drive: Please support our middle school PAL class fin the goal of collecting 100 pairs of pajamas as part of Tustin Community Foundation's annual pajama drive. "Project Pajamas" collects new pajamas to be distributed to local families in need through organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Families Together, Hope Harbor Homes, OC Rescue Mission, Waymakers Tustin Youth shelters, and Sunday Supper. We are looking for NEW pajamas for children (size 2-16) to adults (size XS-XL). Please drop off your pajama donations at the Tustin Connect K-8 and HS office from November 15th- December 2nd.
Nat Geo Virtual Field Trip: In honor of Native American Heritage Month, our 6th-grade students have the option to attend the National Geographic Virtual Field Trip "Native American Stories" at 10 AM on Monday, November 15th where "three storytellers share unique insights from their experiences as Native Americans". Students will virtually travel to New Mexico to hear from a conservationist, then to Montana to visit a photographer, and to Ontario, Canada to hear from an artist.
High School Information
Senior BBQ: Come get to know the rest of your graduating class and celebrate your senior year. The PTA and ASB are hosting a BBQ for all seniors on Thursday, November 18th at 12:30 pm. We hope you can make it! There will be a veggie option available (as well as some Eng 4 office hours credit!). RSVP using this link by 11/12. See flyer for more information.
WASC Accreditation Visit: On November 29 and November 30th, 3 teaching professionals from Riverside, Carlsbad, and Santa Barbara respectively will be conducting a virtual visit and evaluation of our High School. The visit is part of the accreditation process. We are excited to host the visit as it is the culmination of a multi-year process where we have done a self-study of the school and identified various areas of strength and potential areas of growth. The committee will provide feedback, finalize areas of growth, and determine accreditation. It's an exciting and important time. Some of our students will have 1-3 visitors in the classroom virtually. If you are not comfortable with having your child in the virtual classroom for whatever reason, please email Mr. Fineberg at efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us.
