Week in Review
Can you believe it's JUNE!? Our short week started out with a Duck & Cover safety drill on Tuesday and the students/staff did an excellent job. Our total time came in at eight minutes! Wednesday afternoon our teachers were hard at work preparing final report cards so that they may be printed and distributed on the last day of school. We also got notification that Yearbooks have shipped! Next week, we will distribute them to everyone who ordered. There's still time to order one, but it will be shipped to your home over the summer. Today, our 1st and 2nd graders had a wonderful time on the field trip to the Birch Aquarium. What a way to end the year.
Next week is our last full week of school, and full it will be! On Monday our Kindergarteners will join their 3rd grade reading buddies on a field trip to the San Diego Zoo. Our 5th graders have their end of the year field trip to learn about the physics of aerodynamics first-hand doing some indoor skydiving at iFly. The week ends with Field Day where our classes will rotate through a series of fun activities up at the park from 9-11AM. Parent volunteers are welcome! Contact our PE Teacher, Ms. Miyasaki if you're interested: nmiyasaki@sandi.net.

Online LCFF Forms Available Now
Each year the district is responsible for collecting information from our students’ families to support the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) process. The LCFF is hallmark legislation that fundamentally changed how all local educational agencies (LEAs) in the state are funded, how they are measured for results, and the services and supports they receive to allow all students to succeed to their greatest potential.
We are collecting information now and it will be applied to the 2023 – 24 school year. We believe that starting now will reduce the burden of collecting information during the busy time of opening school in the fall and will potentially yield more complete information that will increase the amount of funding that schools and the district receive from the state.
We are starting with our online system accessed through the Parent Portal in PowerSchool. In the portal, we ask parents and families to complete a very short questionnaire that increases the district’s opportunity to receive funds from the state. The information is kept confidential and only used for allowed purposes.
Please complete the form in Parent Portal by June 14th. If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please contact your school to set one up. Paper survey forms are also available. By completing the survey, you will not only be supporting the district’s efforts, but increasing the chances of your child’s school receiving more of this valuable funding.
