We would like to invite you to become a partner in a student's career education by connecting with TSD students and educators through a variety of opportunities. The guidance, mentorship, and connections provided by the businesses and organizations in our local communities make meaningful and lasting impacts on the career futures of our students. Through work-based learning opportunities, career exploration activities and events, and CTE advisory councils, YOU are able to connect with the youth talent pipeline while positively influencing the future workforce.

Join our regional Xello Work-Based Learning Network to reach over 13,000 high school students!
Thompson School District is a proud member of the NoCo Inspire K12 Work-Based Learning Collaborative which is made up of school districts in our area that share the Xelllo WBL Network and work together to connect with businesses for the mutual benefit of industry and education. Our Xello WBL software platform allows YOU to reach over 13,000 high school students and educators in Larimer and Weld counties by posting opportunities like:
- Part-time / summer jobs for current students and full-time employment after graduation
- Internships and Apprenticeships
- Job Shadows, Informational Interviews, and Career Tours
- Guest speaking, mentorship
- Volunteer opportunities

Get in front of TSD High School Students & Parents with hiring and career exploration opportunities!
Ready, Set, Go! Work-Based Learning Fair
- Tuesday, February 27, 2024, 5pm to 7pm
- Thompson Career Campus in Loveland
Engage face-to-face with the youth talent pipeline and share your needs for employees and volunteers as well as offer career exploration activities for students.
Host an "Opportunity Booth" to publicize and recruit for your:
- Employment Opportunities: Summer jobs, part-time jobs, full-time careers for graduating seniors
- Work-Based Learning Opportunities: Internships, Apprenticeships, Job Shadows, Informational Interviews
- Volunteer Opportunities: Events and long term volunteers - all TSD students need 20 hours of community service for graduation!

Mock Interviews at Thompson Career Campus
Business professionals are needed to conduct 15 minute mock interviews and participate in a panel discussion about interviewing with Thompson Career Campus students in these pathways: Health Science, Manufacturing & Design, and Construction Skilled Trades.

CTE Spring Advisory Meetings
Businesses are invited to share feedback with our Career & Technical Education teachers and administrators! These CTE Advisory meetings are listening sessions where businesses provide educators with valuable information regarding curriculum, industry trends, technology, technical and essential skills in order to keep our programs current and serving the needs of industry in our region. We are proud to partner with Poudre School District for these meetings and thank them for hosting these events at the PSD Future Ready Center located in the Foothills Mall in Fort Collins. These events include breakfast and require registration - links below!
- Manufacturing & Engineering - Thursday, February 1, 7:30am to 11:00am. This meeting is hosted by the NoCo Manufacturing Sector Partnership at High Country Beverage in Johnstown. Sign-up link.

Fall 2023 Career Exploration Highlights
TSD 8th graders "Get Into the Guts of Health Care" at FRCC and TCC
On November 2, 8th grade students from Lucille Erwin, Turner, and Walt Clark Middle Schools participated in the Northern Colorado Health Sector Partnership’s “Get into the Guts of Health Care” event at Front Range Community College. Students toured the FRCC facility and enjoyed interactive exhibits provided by a variety of healthcare providers. Next they traveled to the Thompson Career Campus where they enjoyed lunch and a panel discussion with TCC health science students and then learned CNA and Medical Assisting skills from the high school students.

TCC, LHS, and MVHS students attend "Construction Con"
On October 25th, students from Thompson Career Campus, Mountain View High School, and Loveland High School attended the regional Construction Con event at The Ranch, hosted by the Northern Colorado Construction Sector Partnership. Students participated in hands-on activities related to various construction skilled trades careers and connected with industry partners for career advice and employment leads! Thank you to the Northern Colorado Construction Sector Partnership for hosting this wonderful 2nd annual event!
Edmondson Elementary 1st graders explore careers during T3 tour
On October 26, 1st graders from Laurene Edmondson Elementary participated in a city-wide field trip as part of T3 - the Thompson Tomorrows Today program, generously funded by a grant from OtterCares Foundation. Students learned about different careers, essential skills, and related school subjects from City of Loveland Transit - COLT, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority at Station 2, Loveland Police Department, Loveland Post Office, and City of Loveland Recycling Center. Thank you City of Loveland, Colorado - Government for helping us to make these wonderful career connections for younger students and setting up these tour stops!
