Thank you to you Parent Crew for coming out on a Sunday to decorate our sidewalks and hang up signs to welcome our amazing staff to work this morning! This week our Parent Crew is recognizing the the outstanding staff we have here at HCC each day with a special treat. Not only do we have the greatest teachers, paras, office staff, transportation supervisor, and custodian on staff, but our parents and students are the BEST! Together we have made our first year one for the books!

Please note, we have made the following changes to the school calendar: (Please watch for a flyer this week with these dates):

May 10-27- ISAT Testing grades 3-8

May 27-Spirit Day!Get ready for Summer Vacation and Dress like a Tourist! (Think Hawaiian Shirt, sunglasses, cameras, fanny packs). Remember general dress code guidelines still apply.

May 31- No school-Memorial Day

June 1-2- These are no longer early release days and will be full days.

June 2- K-8 Student led conferences 4:30-7:00; New family Open House/Tours 5:00-7:00

June 3- Will remain an early release day for conferences. All students will be released at 12:30. Student Led Conferences will begin at 1:00 PM.

June 9- 8th Grade Promotion @ 6:00 PM (more information to follow)

June 10- Last day of school-Crew Olympics, all students will be dismissed at 12:30.

Summer Vacation Begins!

May is ISAT testing month. Students in grade 3-8 will be testing during the weeks of May 10- May 27. Testing will be spread out into small chunks to reduce fatigue and stress on our students and Parent Crew will be providing snacks to keep our student's brains fueled! It is imperative that your child does not miss school during our testing weeks. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

Our last term of the school year will focus on Passion Projects/ Genius Hours. Students in grades K-8 will choose a topic they are passionate and want to learn more about. During genius hour students will be working on researching, writing, and creating a presentation to share with their classmates and parents.

Attendance/Tardies:

Please come into the office to sign your child in if you arrive late. We are having a large number of students arriving late and leaving early. Keep in mind, these hours and minutes add up to missed days in school.

Dress Code:

As the weather has been getting warmer, students are beginning to wear skirts and shorts. As a reminder, all skirts and shorts must be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee. All shirts must have our school logo (These must be from an approved vendor as copying and using our logo is not permitted). You may view our dress code policy and vendor information on our website or contact the school office for more information.

Yearbooks:

Our deadline for yearbook pre-sale ordering has passed; however, we will have a limited supply available for purchase for $18.00. If you would like to put your name down for one of these please contact us at info@haydencanyoncharter.org

Avoid the lines and buy your tickets in the school office beginning May 17!
