Civil Discourse in a Digital World
Teaching Students How To Have Tough Conversations
What Should I Expect?
This workshop is designed for teachers of all grade levels (with differentiation) to provide actionable strategies to take back to the classroom to help students construct sound arguments while remaining respectful to the ideas and opinions of others. Participants will participate in activities, readings, discussions, and more while working through ways to help students enter a world where talking about race, religion, and politics is no longer something we can (or should) avoid. We'll tackle tough topics, historical and modern, and think about how we interact with them with students in age appropriate ways, both online and in person.
