Patrick Henry Post
December 21st, 2021
Thank you for an amazing 2nd quarter!
This is the final Patrick Henry Post of 2021! We made it through our first semester of this school year, and WOW do we have a lot to celebrate! At the end of each quarter, I like to reflect on what we can do better as a team and how we can improve our school day experience for our students. But I also always find time to reflect on what I am most proud of and most thankful for. This Patrick Henry Post is dedicated to our second quarter victories - areas in which we saw growth, events that brought us joy, and those special moments of brilliance with our staff and students. Read below for all that I am thankful for this quarter, and I wish each of you a wonderful Winter Break filled with rest, relaxation, and fun!
Thank you, Students!
Our students are our greatest treasure, and the reason we come to work every single day. Our students have accomplished incredible things this semester, and a few photos below capture some special moments with our students throughout second quarter.
Thank you, Cafeteria Team!
Ms. Michelle, Cafe Lead
Ms. Michelle is our Cafeteria Lead at Patrick Henry, and we want to thank her for her service to our students, especially throughout this school year with all of the challenges presented by Covid!
Cafeteria Teamwork
It requires a lot of people and logistics to manage the cafeteria, and we are thankful to Ms. Michelle, Ms. Mary, Ms. Nicole, and Ms. Michelle for their dedication to our students and our school community.
We are also thankful for the support from our district staff in Food Services and Southwest, who help us plan and structure our meals every single day to make it a positive and healthy experience.
Lunch Supervisors
Did you know that we eat every single meal in our classrooms, and we have been doing that for the last two years?! It requires an incredible amount of teamwork to cover all of those lunches, and we are thankful to Mrs. Ralphs, Ms. Godfrey, Ms. Gonzalez, Ms. Webb, Ms. Smith, Ms. Gregory, Ms. Harris, Ms. Jones, Ms. Tolbert, and Ms. Hill!
Thank you, Related Arts Team!
We have had the joy of welcoming three new teachers to our Related Arts team this school year. We are so happy to report that music, art, and PE have been a fabulous source of fun, joy, learning, and growth! I have never seen so many beautiful art pieces, heard so many amazing sounds, and watched so much movement in all of my years here at Patrick Henry. Thank you, Mrs. Ralphs, Ms. Gonzalez, and Ms. Godfrey!
Thank you, Community Partners!
Our relationship with Mike Raeber and Tom Brady has continued for another amazing year of providing gifts for every single student at Patrick Henry! Students were able to walk through a toy shop with a personalized shopper helping them choose an age-appropriate gift that was most exciting to them, and students walked away with an amazing set of gifts! We are so thankful for this partnership, and we are thrilled that it will continue for many years to come!
We have also had a long relationship with our afterschool program, Unleashing Potential, and we are so thankful for the team of people who work with our students every day and help them find meaningful but fun activities to participate in once the school day has concluded. Thank you to Mr. Upchurch for leading the charge here at Patrick Henry!
Thank you, Staff!
Our staff got to celebrate their accomplishments this semester at our staff holiday party at the bowling alley! We have some amazing bowlers on our team, and we never knew!! Our staff has been working so hard this semester, and it was fun to take a moment to recognize their efforts. It was also fabulous to meet family members, friends, and significant others. The Patrick Henry family doesn't just include our staff members, but also their personal support systems. If you've ever had an educator friend or family member, you know that everyone in the family helps support the educator and the students from afar. We say thank you to all who support us!
Congrats, Star Winners!
Our students work hard every day in their Related Arts classes to earn S.T.A.R. tickets in recognition of meeting the academic and behavioral expectations of each class. This week's winners are shown below with their prize from the treasure chest. Great job!
Congratulations, 5th Graders!
