Our Mission
The mission of Simon Middle School, a diverse, pioneering community built on relationships and acceptance, is to sculpt and cultivate motivated, contributing citizens through both success and failure while broadening horizons and building confidence.
Hard to believe we are in the final month of school! Students have been great and working hard thus far through STAAR. We have 8th grade this week and 6-8th math next week and then can celebrate in the end of year celebrations!
Again, I encourage you to log in with your students at home and explore the practice STAAR tests! 20 minutes of practice with students each night will help us tremendously in the upcoming testing days!
Please save the dates:

Summer School 2023
The district has redesigned what summer school looks like this year and is allowing campuses to do what fits their campus. For SMS, we have pulled a list of students not meeting the 90% attendance rule and/or did not meet approaches last year on Math or ELA STAAR. Those invited to summer school have been contacted for additional academic support and to make up attendance hours that may be needed. That said, our summer school is going to occur DURING the school year. Starting Monday, May 1-May 18 summer school students are requested to stay after school Monday-Thursday 4:00-5:00pm. A late bus has been arranged and snacks will be provided. Teachers are leading the activities and students will receive credit for attending. If you don't receive an email, but would like your child to participate, they still can by staying each day 4:00-5:00pm. Transportation is available to all as usual.
