PLAN AHEAD FOR SCHOOL-APPROPRIATE COSTUMES
HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION - SCHOOL PARADE AT 9:45 AM.
- School appropriate costumes may be worn to school by K-6 students: Monday, October 31st.
- We are looking forward to our parade this year – weather permitting! Students and staff will parade around the building, and parents and guests may view the parade of students from the grass or edge-of-blacktop areas.
- Monday, October 31st is a HALF DAY for all students (in-person and Virtual Academy). Dismissal is at 11:44 for students.
SCHOOL APPROPRIATE COSTUME CHOICES
Students should refrain from violent characterization and may not use any fake weapons, fake blood, or any references to victims or perpetrators of violence for their costume choice at school. Violent characterization is unacceptable for school parades and where younger students might be frightened. If deemed inappropriate by school personnel, students will be asked to remove the costume and/or wash makeup.
Book, cartoon, folk heroes, historical figures, and period costumes are all good ideas to consider when thinking of the perfect costume. If you have any questions regarding suitability, please contact the school at 797 - 4700.
Since it is a half day (11:44 dismissal), students will be allowed to wear partial costumes to school. Check to be sure that your child can walk freely, and that the costume will be comfortable enough for the classroom setting. Masks may be worn (frightening masks not permitted) but those that impede vision should be left at home. Plan to have your child bring any costume props (wigs and other add-ons) to school in a bag or backpack.
REMINDER: MONDAY, OCTOBER 31st - HALF DAY OF SCHOOL FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
REPORT CARDS COMING IN NOVEMBER THROUGH POWERSCHOOL ACCOUNTS
During November, Ebeling will distribute reports cards electronically. The first marking period grades will be sent electronically to families around mid November.
To receive the report cards, parents will need to have a secure PowerSchool account. Parents who do not have access to a PowerSchool account will need to register for one prior to Friday, October 28th. The report cards will then be automatically e-mailed to the address that is used to register the PowerSchool account. If you already have a PowerSchool account, you do not need to take any further action. The report card automatically will be sent to you electronically.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES - SAVE THE DATES
Parent Teacher Conferences
Wednesday, November 9, 2022 @ 4:30-7:30 PM
November 10, 2022 @ 12:30 – 3:30 PM & 4:30-7:30 PM
It may be hard to believe, but we are nearing the end of our first card marking period. Since the start of school, we have worked together to navigate some of the challenges of our environment but also celebrate real successes of the connections being made between teachers and our students. It is now our opportunity to schedule Parent-Teacher Conferences. Conferences are an important part of our partnership to make sure students are meeting our shared expectations. This year, we will be offering BOTH virtual (online) and in-person conference sessions.
This year, we will again be using a web-based process to schedule and virtually meet with your child’s teachers about their progress. The system we are using is called School Soft Conference Manager and it will allow you to check our teachers’ conference schedules and book an appointment on-line. You will use the same system for you and your student’s teacher to have a virtual conversation about academic progress.
The first time you use the Conference Manager you will be required to register and create a parent account. (If you already have an account from previous years, you can skip this step).Setup only takes a minute or two. You will continue to use this same account for the duration of the time you have children in the school, so please record your password where you can reference it later.
More details with specific signup times will follow in our next few the weekly newsletters...stay tuned!
LOST AND FOUND
Encourage your child to check Lost and Found for their missing items. Our lost and found table is overflowing with clothes, shoes, jackets, gloves, lunchboxes and more! Parent teacher conference days provide a great opportunity for parents to reclaim lost items. All items will be donated to a local charity organization the week before Thanksgiving, so please take a look:)

1. Please press the buzzer to speak with someone in the office
2. You will be asked to state your name and reason for visiting
3. You will be asked to show your photo ID into the security camera above the outside door
4. Office staff will then be able to buzz you inside

In addition, we are asking you to not let any visitors in the door as you enter (and they come up behind you) or as you exit the building.
The teachers and staff are committed to student safety and security and we would like to thank you for your assistance in helping keep the students of Ebeling safe.
