It has been a fast 3 weeks!

The first 3 weeks of school have already flown by! Hopefully, you have had conversations with your student about what they are learning in class and what they are excited about. We would love for you to come to school Wednesday evening from 5-6:30 for Open House. We will begin with a short meeting in the auditorium and then you will be able to walk around to your student's classes to meet their teachers. It is a wonderful opportunity for you to create that partnership with the teachers who will be engaging your student in learning this year.

No vaping

It is now a mandatory punishment for students with vapes at school. Please talk to your student about the harmful effects of vaping and the mandatory discipline they will receive.

Drawstring backpacks only!

Students do not need large backpacks for school. We are asking students to carry only a drawstring backpack. This will assist the campus with safety and also your student because homework won't get "lost" in there!

*We are being flexible at this point until parents have had the chance to purchase the new backpacks. We don't want students to have to manage all of their items along with technology without a bag. We will begin our heavy enforcement after Labor Day. Thanks for your help in getting your student this item so they are prepared.

Students learn better without distractions!

William James MS is a No Cell Phone Zone!

School start time is 9 am. Please have your child here by 8:45 am to eat breakfast and be ready for class to begin at 9.

MAP Testing continues this week!

We need your students at school and ready to take their Beginning-of-the-Year tests. These tests are so important because it gives information on where they are beginning the year along with their academic strengths and areas that need more support. These tests will be in the classes so the teachers can support them.


Every student has been issued a MacBook, so please make sure your student is plugging it in at night so that it is charged and ready to go for school the next day.


If your student is having technology difficulties, they can talk to any of their teachers for assistance.
