FMS MID-SUMMER REMINDERS
A FEW REMINDERS FOR YOU
MAKE SURE YOU GO TO A TECHNOLOGY EVENT!
READ THIS IF YOUR CHILD HANDED IN THEIR CHROMEBOOK IN JUNE
Going to the event?
- When you go to the event, you will pay money and sign paperwork.
- On the first or second day of school, your child's Chromebook will be waiting for them in their homeroom.
- Yay! Your child is ready for learning right at the beginning of the new school year!
Will not go to the event?
- On the first day of school your child should bring the technology form and the exact cash for the Chromebook fees.
- Both of those things will be collected by our technology people.
- Your child will receive their Chromebook hopefully by the end of the week. They may lose some valuable learning while waiting for their Chromebook and may need to do alternative assignments or make up missed work once they receive their Chromebook.
Don't pay and don't have a Chromebook?
- Your child will get their Chromebook when the money and paperwork is collected by the technology people.
- Your child will lose some valuable learning without their Chromebook. Teachers will give them alternative assignments that may not be what the other students in class are doing. Please call the school and work out a solution!
IT'S TIME TO SIGN UP FOR THE MEAL PROGRAM - WE ARE GOING FOR 80% SCHOOLWIDE THIS YEAR!
- The more people we have sign up for the meal program the better!
- The reduced meal has been waived. That means that if you qualify for reduced or free you will have free meals.
- You would be surprised how much money you can make and still be eligible.
- Students use their lunch number for everything - no one knows who has free, reduced, or full price lunch.
- Save yourself some money - food prices are too high!
- Every acceptance to the meal program nets our school more money under Title I funds.
- Help us and help your family - sign up today!
- It's estimated that half of the families that qualify for free meals don't apply - don't be that family!
- Note: you will need your child's student ID# (look in PowerSchool or call the school)

IS YOUR CHILD INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN THE SPORTS PROGRAM?
- Talk to your child and tell them to pay attention to announcements and the student RamPages and listen or look for information on sports tryouts. They need to be able to tell you dates, times, and expectations for dressing out.
- Parents provide all transportation for sports - make sure you have a plan for picking your child up after practice in a timely manner.
- 6th grade students are exempt from athletic program parameters for academics for their first semester.
- All other athletes must have passed three out of four of their core classes (Math, Science, Social Studies, ELA) in the second semester (S2 in PowerSchool) of the 2022-2023 school year to be eligible to play sports. This is a DPI rule, not an FMS rule.
- Students who are eligible to play and are accepted on a team must have a physical on file.
