Just a quick newsletter with a few pieces of timely information. Please take a few minutes to review this important information. I will send an additional newsletter prior to the opening of school.

We hope that you will be able to join us as we celebrate the opening of our city's newest school - The Sgt. Jordan Shay Lower Elementary School. We will have "age appropriate" refreshments in the cafeteria. Hope to see you there!

We are very excited that we now have both of our elementary schools on one campus. This will be beneficial to all stakeholders, from students, to staff, as well as families. Our annual Meet and Greet event is the first time we will be capitalizing on this.

This year's Meet and Greet will take place on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30th. Please see the schedule below.

Shay Memorial (Pre-K to 2):

• Meet and Greet with teachers will take place from 6-7 pm
• Building tours will be offered from 7-8 pm

Cashman (Grades 3-5):

• Building Tours will be offered from 6-7 pm
• Meet and Greet with teachers will take place from 7-8 pm

The Meet and Greet is an informal way to meet your teacher(s) and to see your classroom(s). Please note that teachers will not be available during the building tour time of the Meet and Greet. However, members of the administration will be able to answer any questions that you might have.

I know that many of you have questions about how arrival and dismissal will work with the opening of Shay. Please know that we are working on communication and visuals that will assist families in this process. As soon as we have finalized this information, we will share it with families. We will also share specific information about buses and the assigned routes.
