Student Accomplishments:
Students of the Month
Math - Sneha Verma is an Honors Computer Science student who solves the challenges of programming via thinking of innovative solutions and attention to detail. In addition to performing well in class, Sneha is the lead programmer for her Sparta Vex RoboticsTeam, 5249S. Her team depends on her code to make the robot competitive in the upcoming competitions.
Science - Logan Hrenenko works extremely hard in both the classroom and fitness center. He understands the content and can apply what he has learned to meet fitness goals. He exemplifies what it means to be a student athlete.
World Language - Armani Gutierrez is a 9th grade student enrolled in level 3 French with Madame Dow. Armani comes to class prepared on a daily basis and takes a regular part in class discussions and activities. He demonstrates a strong commitment to the study of French, and he is to be commended for his pursuit of academic excellence.
ESL - Tamara Lelitka is consistently progressing and putting forth great effort. She's very helpful with her peers and is a joy to have in class.
History - Edward (Quint) Flannery asks meaningful questions and always participates in classroom discussion about the various philosophers studied.
Music - Katherine Sheeran has done an amazing job involving herself in every part of the music department. She plays cello in Philharmonic Orchestra, Vibraphone in Blues Inc. Jazz Band, and is a Front Ensemble captain in Marching Band (2 yrs). She also is a member of Symphonic Band, Honors Choir, Shacappella, Sparta Sirens, Nightingales, and a teaching assistant for Freshman Select Choir. Her willingness to try new things with a great attitude has not gone unnoticed.
Art - Athena Kollar shows a commitment to improving her already impressive skills in visual art. She is open to experimenting with different techniques and ideas. Athena is not afraid to attempt difficult points of view or to increase the difficulty of a project. Athena participates in class and group discussions and is always open to hearing and growing from constructive criticism.
Physical Education - Jude Szymanski is an outstanding student in Drivers Education. Jude would make his way around the classroom and help other students with practice tests and provide encouragement to his classmates. Jude has been an awesome student and deserves to be recognized for his efforts.

- Marking Period 1 ended on November 6. Report cards will be posted on November 16 at 3 pm
- Sophomores have the opportunity to apply to become our HOBY Leadership ambassador. See email sent on 11/1 for more information.
- 12th grade students will attend an alumni panel assembly on November 22nd to hear about the college experience from Sparta graduates.

English Department Highlights
- Ms. Takacs and Dr. Galipeau have been planning engaging and impressive co-teaching lessons.
- Our students and staff have been working hard to prepare the fall drama production of Midsummer/Jersey that will take place next month.
- Mrs. Kopp took her Tomorrow's Teachers students to the Future Educators Conference and they had a great day learning and growing.
