Mr. Ruppe's September Newsletter
September 2023
Tiger Families,
We have had a fantastic start to the school year!
Thank you for everything you have done to help make this a smooth start to the year! As a reminder to our car rider parents, please make sure your child is unbuckled and ready to get out by the time you pull up to the drop-off area. This makes unloading quicker and keeps our line moving. In the afternoons, please make sure you keep your car rider tag visible to our callers. Also, if you need to buckle your child up, please pull up to the empty parking spaces beyond the line. These things help keep the line flowing smoothly.
Pickup Patrol welcome emails were sent out in August. If you did not receive one, please reach out to Mrs. Greene. She can be reached by calling the school at 704-476-8225, or by email at mfgreene@clevelandcountyschools.org. Make sure you verify your child's afternoon transportation default once you've created your account. We encourage you to make afternoon transportation changes via the Pickup Patrol app.
September is going to be a busy month! To start off, September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. On Friday, September 8th, we encourage everyone to wear yellow to show their support. We will also be doing a Hat Day this day for $1. All money will go towards North's Relay for Life Team.
The CCS Fun Run takes place on Saturday, October 21st at the football stadium at Shelby High School. All registration forms and the $10 fee are due by Friday, September 1st. I hope to see a lot of Tigers there!
The North PTO Read-A-Thon Fundraiser will begin on September 11th. Information will be sent home with students on September 5th. This was a huge success last year as over $6000 was raised to support various projects and student events around North. This year, part of the money will be used for a new mural in the lobby area of the school as well as student events/supplies throughout the school year. All support is greatly appreciated!
Dot Day is on September 15th - be sure your child wears dots! This is always a fun day!
Book Fair will be at North from September 25th to 28th! Book fair will be open to parents on September 28th from 1:00-6:30 if you'd like to stop in.
Parent/Teacher conferences are on September 28th and school will dismiss at 1:00 that day. September 30th is a Teacher Workday - there is no school for students.
Parents, please make sure you have your ID with you if you're coming to school to eat lunch or check out your child. Our sign-in/out system requires a driver's license or ID to be scanned. We strive to keep our students safe. This is one additional step we can use to ensure the safety of everyone here at school. Please share this information with anyone who may come to school to eat lunch with your child. Please note that visitors are not allowed to go to classrooms after lunch. Please say your goodbyes in the cafeteria. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. My email is atruppe@clevelandcountyschools.org and the school phone number is 704-476-8225.
I appreciate you all!
Andrew T Ruppe, Principal
