Substitute Authorizations (limited to no more than 10 consecutive days in a 30 day period in one assignment)

  • The degree requirement to obtain a substitute authorization has been changed from a bachelor’s degree to an associate’s degree or 60 semester hours through a college or university accredited through an institutional accrediting agency approved by the U.S. Department of Education. The substitute authorization course is still required.
  • The age requirement of 21 years of age for a substitute authorization is in effect.
  • Paraeducators who hold a paraeducator certificate with the limited substitute authorization may serve as a substitute in any classroom except driver’s education as per the most recent proclamation (9/17/2021).

COLD WEATHER IS HERE...

Please remember to send your student with layers. We welcome hats, gloves, and coats. If the weather warms up, they can always stay on the hook. When students don't have enough layers it can be miserable outside.


It also helps if you label the items with student last name. That way if they end up lost, we can return them to their owner. Speaking of which, our Lost and Found, is very full. We will be hanging these items and encouraging students to take a look on their way to and from lunch.

UCSD is hiring for various positions including Adventuretime Before & After School Childcare Associates, High School Spanish Teacher, High School Special Education Teacher, Nutrition Services, Special Education Associates, and Substitutes.
