Happy Friday Raptor Families!

We look forward to next week and all of the activities it entails. On October 30th, our boys basketball team has a game at Aspen Ridge. Halloween is Tuesday, October 31st. Please read over the guidelines below for additional information. On Wednesday, November 1st, we have our PLC/Late Start. School starts at 11:05 am, with dropoff beginning at 10:50 am.

It looks like the weather will hold for our Halloween parade on Tuesday at 9:30 am. You do not need to go through the front office, you can meet us on the track. Here are a few reminders for Halloween:

• Students should wear their costume over their clothes in order to change.

• Remind your students not to bring candy into school next week. This causes a huge distraction to learning.

• Costumes cannot create a distraction or disruption at the school, as safety is always the top priority at school. Staff must be able to recognize students; therefore, students may not wear face masks, sunglasses, fake blood, face paint, and anything that covers the entire face. Weapons (real or facsimile) are also not allowed.

• Please do not send cupcakes into school with your child.

• Teachers have prepared some fun activities for students that don't involve all the unhealthy sugars.

We are looking forward to having fun with students and seeing their costumes.

Many of us have adorable, fun loving pets that we want to share with everyone, but for the safety of ALL our students, we ask that you keep your pet at home. While we all have the best intentions, we need to do our best to keep students safe. We appreciate your understanding.

Thank you to all our 4th - 8th graders who have been fundraising for the Addams Family production! This is the last weekend to sell in person. Order forms and money is due to Mrs. Clink, Mrs. Locker, or Mrs. Dehner on Tuesday, October 31st. Online orders are open until Tuesday, November 7th!

There will be a vision and hearing screening on Friday, November 10th. Your
child(ren) may be on the list to be screened. Please encourage them to bring/wear their
glasses to school on this day. If our screening indicates that your student needs further
evaluation, you will be notified by mail. Please contact our health clerk at hernandez_neftaly@svvsd.org if you have questions or concerns.

The Lost and Found is filling up. If your student is missing a jacket, water bottle, or lunch box, please have them check. The Lost and Found is located outside of the main gym. All items left will be donated on November 17th.

Fees for the school year can be found online through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal under Fees. You can also see if there are any unpaid fees from the previous school years.

Families can make payments using Campus Payments. Please visit this link for instructions on how to pay outstanding fees in Infinite Campus.

School starts at 11:05am, the earliest students can be dropped off is 10:50am. Buses pick up 2.5 hours later than their normal pick up time.

The Santa Cops form is now online. Please use the link provided below. The deadline for Santa Cops Referral Form will be Friday, November 17th, 2023. Late or incomplete referrals will not be accepted.

Safe2Tell’s reporting process is simple. Call to interact with a live, trained analyst (call takers) or fill out a form via the website or mobile app.

Parents/guardians shall be required to furnish an explanation for student absenteeism either in writing or orally. Absences not explained within two days after returning to school shall be recorded as unexcused absences unless unusual or extenuating circumstances exist as determined by the building administrator. After 10 excused or unexcused absences a doctors note is required. Communication is key to successful attendance.
