NTZB Parent Bulletin
April 7, 2023
Hello New Tech Families,
We are now in the final weeks of this school year, and it is critical we finish strong! Please continue to visit the website and stay connected for the latest information regarding end of the year details. Seniors need to make sure they have their graduation contracts signed and submitted. Next week, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, is our district assessment day. Seniors will not be in attendance. Our junior students will take the SAT test, while 9th and 10th graders will take the PSAT assessments. Buses will run, with freshman and sophomore students being released at 11:20 and Juniors at 12:35. Please continue to support your child as they work to bring this school year to a successful close. As always, I look forward to creating more great days for our students and staff!
In partnership,
Bonnie Felske

NEW TECH EXCELLENCE
Meals for the Community
On March 11th, Rotary/Interact prepared and delivered meals for the local community. Starting at 9 am, Tristain Balay, Amy Becerra, and Anthony Guerrero worked alongside Rotarians--Pamela, Donna, Barbara, Glenda, Debbie, Bill, Jake (and kids), Latrisha (and kids) Patricia, Warren, Chris, and Harriet--packing meals. The meals were prepared at Memorial United Methodist Church on Sheridan Road in Zion. The Interact Club sponsor, Mr. Regnier stated the event was a huge success. Well done, BEES!
NJROTC
We would like to recognize the excellence of the NJROTC Rifle Team and their success capturing the Silver Medal (2nd place overall) at the All Service Rifle Competition in Port Clinton, Ohio. A special shout-out to New Tech's Gianna Gomez who ranked 53rd overall in individual ranking. Major accomplishments for the team this year include:
- Area – 03 Champions
- Illinois State Champions
- 3rd and 4th place at Navy Nationals
- 2nd and 9th place at All Service Nationals
TECHNOLOGY TIDBIT
Are you and your family prepared for an emergency?
With Smart911, you can provide 9-1-1 call takers and first responders with the critical information you want them to know in any kind of emergency. These profiles can include people living in your household, phone numbers associated with your family, pets, medical conditions, medications, medical equipment, property details, vehicle descriptions, emergency contacts, and more. When you call 9-1-1, your Smart911 Safety Profile displays on the 9-1-1 screen and the 9-1-1 call takers can view all of the information that you have provided. This is a national service so your Smart911 Safety Profile travels with you and is visible to any participating 9-1-1 center nationwide. Once you register, you will also be able to sign up for alerts and notification for weather, traffic, and other emergencies in your area.
