Social Emotional Learning
At Vernon Township High School, we continue to focus on the New Jersey Social and Emotional Learning Competencies and Sub-Competencies during the 2019-2020 school year.
We understand that much of this responsibility has been transferred to the home now that this pandemic has created the need for students to complete their learning online and we truly appreciate all of our families and the dedication that such online learning necessitates.

Our students worked on an essay (part 1) which we submitted online. They completed both part 2 the multiple-choice engineering questions exam and part 3 the Design-Build project.
During their lunch session, our students had a chance to visit the engineering building (Armstrong Hall) and the Integrated STEM building. They even got a personal tour from a Biomedical professor working on a new cutting edge medical prosthetic device. Finally, they competed against other high performing HS throughout the state.

Juniors Selected to Attend Girls’ Career Institute
Congratulations to Juniors Karolina Jamiolkowska and Rylee Smaldone who have been chosen by the Vernon Township Woman's Club to be delegates at the Girls' Career Institute, which will be held at Douglass College Campus of Rutgers University during June. Sponsored by the New Jersey State Federation of Woman's Clubs, Girls' Career Institute (GCI) offers a "mini college experience''at Douglass Residential College on the campus of Rutgers University.
Delegates experience a sample of college life by living in a dorm, eating in a cafeteria, and attending lectures and workshops. They learn about career choices from volunteer professional speakers and how to network with other delegates from all over the state of New Jersey. Many establish lasting friendships with one another.
