Random Acts of Kindness Week!
February 13th-19th is Random Acts of Kindness Week! One small act of kindness can have a great BIG impact on others around you. Your random acts of kindness may benefit one person, a large group, or a whole community. Acts can be informal and simple. Most of us live busy lives and don't take the time to think about small acts of kindness that we could do for those around us. In such a world, it is important for us to constantly be reminded to be kind to one another and to give others hope whenever we can. Showing kindness is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have – it’s usually totally free, but the benefits you gain back are enormous.
So, what are some small gestures that show kindness to others?
- Smile at, or say hello to a stranger.
- Compliment somebody when they least expect it.
- Hold the door open for somebody.
- Pay for the next person in line’s coffee or snack.
- Donate your time to volunteer efforts.
- Help out an elderly neighbor or relative with their groceries.
- Call a friend to check-in.
- Donate old clothing, or canned food, to those who need it most.
- Give up your seat on the subway to someone who might need it more.
- Always say ‘thank you, no matter how small the action.
We challenge you throughout the rest of this week to show kindness to others however you choose to do so. Remember that your small gesture can have a huge impact. Always remember to BE KIND.
