Letter from the Principal
We feel so blessed to be serving your students at Bright Beginnings this year. We are off to a great start and are fortunate that we have a great team of teachers and staff working for us. I hope you got to know your child's teacher just a little better through P/T Conferences. Please do not hesitate to reach out to them if you have questions or concerns.
At the beginning of our year, many of our students have problems separating from their moms and dads. Please be patient and brave as they adjust. The longer you linger at the door, the harder the transition can be for them. Have a clear goodbye ritual and show them you will absolutely be returning. Check them into the classroom and then exit the building. Very often, they only struggle for a few minutes after you leave and then adjust easily to the classroom environment. Trust your child's teachers and this will improve very quickly.
Please don't forget to like our BBEC Facebook page. This is a rich source for great information. Also, we will be using Talking Points as our school communicator this year. Please ask your teacher or the staff in the Office for more information about this great resource.
Thank you for choosing to send your child to BBEC. We're going to have a great year.

Downtown Dodge City, KS
We still have spots for qualifying children!
Policy Council
Parents are their child's first teacher. You know what is best for your child. For this reason, Head Start created the Policy Council as a leadership role for parents! Through the Policy Council, parents have a voice in decisions about how the program spends money, what children do in their classrooms, and how the program works with community partners.
All Bright Beginnings parents are welcome to be a part of the Policy Council. Ask your teacher or advocate if you are interested in participating. Our first meeting will be September 21st at 11:30 am in the Policy Council room (basement of building A).

A Note From Miss Melyssa
Your child has been learning about safety rules, how to be in their school family, what it means to be a friend, how to learn while playing, and the routines & schedules of their day. I would like to share some of things with you in our Bright Beginnings Social Emotional Google Site.
Click HERE to join in! Please click on the Parent Sign in to let us know how you are learning with your child.
You will find videos of read-a-louds, fun ways to teach rhyming and connecting and so much more! Thank you being a part of our Bright Beginnings Family.
