Dear Mission Families,

You will notice that on Monday our flags will be placed at half-staff for Patriot Day in honor of the individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The Presidential Proclamation provides more information on this honor should you wish to have a family discussion.

Thank you to the parents that have volunteered to be a part of our School Site Council. This week we will send a voting ballot to give Mission families an opportunity to vote for the vacancies in our School Site Council (SSC). If you are interested in participating as a parent member of Mission's SSC, please complete this form by Wednesday, September 13.

We are excited to see you and provide an opportunity to meet our amazing teachers at our Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 13 from 5:30-7:00pm. There will be a general meeting in the Multipurpose Room (MPR) starting at 5:30pm. Two sessions for visiting classrooms will happen from 6:00-7:00pm. We also invited community members to provide resources for families. We look forward to parents visiting classrooms and getting to know our site a bit more.

During our Back To School Night, teachers will ask you to schedule a date for our parent/teacher conferences which will happen between October 17-24. Parents will aslso be asked to review and sign our technology agreement. Please take time to read the agreement as well as our Parent/Caregiver & Sudent Handbook.

See this flyer about some upcoming Love and Logic classes. These classes are highly recommended by parents who have attended these classes.

During Back to School Night-Mission will be hosting a resource fair.

Students and families will be able to visit our resource fair during 6:00-7:00 p.m. after visiting their classrooms.

PTO meetings provide great opportunities to meet other Mission parents, teachers and community members. You can learn how your child and our school benefit from the work of our PTO. Our first meeting is Tuesday, September 19 at 5:00pm. Everyone is invited. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting!

The OUSD Board of Education approved a District Policy that prohibits dogs on campus, for the safety and health of all our students and staff.
