Principal's Message
Dear Niton School Community,
I hope you had a good week and are looking forward to the week ahead. This past week was a four day week for students while staff spent Friday looking at data from our recent Benchmark assessments and the Assurance Model Surveys completed in the spring. We use data and analysis to inform instruction and create goals. Our grade 5/6 teacher position is posted and can be accessed under Careers on the GYPSD website.
The Niton Knights volleyball teams played their first away game on Thursday at Grand Trunk. I hope their friends and family were able to watch the live-stream of the game. Both teams played well as they put practice into action. Congratulations to the boys on their win. Both teams did us proud!! This week, the Knights are at home against HRH and we are pleased to offer a live stream of the games. Please see details below.
Thank you for your continued support of the Niton Central School community and for completing the Alberta Health Daily Checklist before sending your student to school. We appreciate the great response of informing the office or classroom teacher of student absences. Please don't forget to notify your student's bus driver. As always, my door remains open and I can be contacted by phoning the school or through email.
Wishing everyone a great week ahead!

Knights in Action! Monday, October 25 !! Watch the action LIVE STREAM!
As per Alberta legislation at this time, spectators are allowed at games. Niton Central School gym has less than 20 spectator seats. Practices remain closed. Our number one priority of Niton Central School Athletics is our student athletes and their participation in school sport.
Therefore, the following spectator guidelines MUST be followed by ALL spectators:
1. Our capacity for spectators is low as we must seat teams, coaches, and bus drivers first.
Therefore, we have less than 20 seats available.
2. Please LIMIT the number of in-person spectators per athlete and prioritize parents/guardians of athletes. We ask that spectators watch their athlete's game and then exit the building so parents/guardians of the second team may watch their athlete. We have arranged it so the boys play first this game.
3. Sanitation will take place between boys and girls games. Note that all spectators MUST wear masks at ALL times while in Niton Central School. Spectators must sign in, remain masked and seated, sit in family cohorts and maintain social distance. Hands must be sanitized upon entering and leaving the gymnasium.
4. Unfortunately, only students who are on the Volleyball teams will be allowed to remain after school on game days. NCS siblings of athletes must be masked and seated with their parent/guardian as part of a family cohort to attend.
Thanks to Mr. Stoyles for his research and time spent setting up a live stream for Monday's game. This is our first attempt at live stream - should the live stream stop working please return to the youtube link and fresh stream will be launched shortly.
