Week In Review and a Look Ahead: Friday, January 5, 2024
Principal's Message
Welcome to 2024! It's hard to believe but we are just a few days away from the midpoint of our year. On January 11, our 6th graders will switch their science and social studies classes for the rest of the year and all students will soon begin scheduling and preparing for the next school year.
It looks like winter weather may actually impact us this year. In the event that we are closed, but call for a FID day (Flexible Instruction Day), students will be asked to log-on and attend to various learning activities assigned by their teachers that are posted in their Google classrooms. There is no schedule to follow and students can attend to these assignments at a time that works best for them. If we are officially "closed," students are not required to work on school items that day.

Congratulations to our 6th and 7th grade students who have been identified by their teams for their excellent work this past month!

8th Grade Parents/Guardians- Important Announcement
Our 8th grade families are asked to keep the evening of January 25th open in their calendars. This is the night that the BASH administrative and counseling teams have set aside for an in-person presentation about transitioning and scheduling for next year in high school. You will be able to hear a presentation and visit with various department representatives about specific classes and programming. After the presentation, a voiced-over powerpoint will be published for your reference or in case you can not attend. Specific details and times are forthcoming.
From Roblox to TikTok, technology is changing fast, and many of us are struggling to stay one step ahead of our kids. Please join us on Wednesday, January 24th at 7 PM for an expert Zoom presentation and Q&A about how to help your children stay safe online. This engaging presentation will cover:
- What kids are doing online, from popular apps to online gaming
- Tips for managing screen time
- Best practices to help kids be safe, savvy, and kind online
- Ways to manage a child’s devices, including app settings for age-appropriate content, and more
- Plus, ask your own questions during a live Q&A chat!
