Our New Teacher Cadet
We are so lucky to have Miss Holly in our classroom every other morning. She is a teacher cadet from Dutch Fork High School. She has been so helpful with the students. She reads with them and helps with their literacy workstations.She will be with us for the next few months!

Word Wall Words
Pictured above are this week’s new words. These are the LAST two words of the year. Please have your child practice at home. A big thank you to Zamora for coloring this week’s page. Below, she put together simple word puzzles.
Literacy Workstations
Bessie-Grace has built words using foam letters.
Word Work
We worked on words that end in ay. The children had to figure out what letter to put in front to create a new word.
Writers Workshop
This week we wrote our own “How to” books. These books have three steps. The children think of something they know how to do and teach the steps to the reader. Grace wrote “How to Make Cookies.”
Reading
As readers, we are learning to use facts to support our opinions.Aaliyah likes this book because it teaches us how bananas go from a tree, travels, and ends up on our table!
Shared Reading
We worked on -op words during Word Work. The students were tickled to discover this book had a lot of -op rhyming words!
Math
We are learning how to decompose numbers. It is the skill of starting with a number and breaking into parts. For instance, 14 is 10 and 4 more.
Math Workstations
Aria and Noah worked hard on their cut and paste activity. It is so beneficial to their learning, while they are just having fun! They work on following directions, tracing, cutting skills, spacial awareness and gluing skills.
Science
This week we are learning about what animals need to live.
Below are the students who completed their 3rd quarter Environmental Science Challenge. Great job!!!
