FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
It's wonderful to see the incredible instruction happening in our classrooms each day! Visiting classrooms is often a highlight of my day, and this week was no exception as we had:
- Hands-on, inquiry based learning during our middle school computer science lab
- Small group, individualized reading instruction in our elementary classrooms
- Education in the arts in music class and with the start of rehearsals for our drama production
- Engaging class discussions based on our new religion series Faith and Life
- And much, much more!
We're also preparing for another great community event here at Father Doyle School and Saints John and Paul Parish. The Parish's 64th Annual Snowflake Bazaar is Saturday October 23 from 9am to 5pm and Sunday October 24 from 9am to 1pm in the Parish Hall. Please see the flyer under "Academic Calendar and Other Documents" for more information. Our Father Doyle School community has always worked to support the Bazaar in various ways, and this year we are running the "Twinkle Town" children's games area. We are looking for parents and middle school students to volunteer during the event. Please note that students can earn service hours for volunteering.
Interested in volunteering to support the Twinkle Town area? Please complete the Google Form here. The Bazaar is the parish's biggest fundraiser of the year, a local tradition since the late 1950s, and a great community building event, please help us make it a success!
Please be sure to read the additional information and announcements below:
Mark Your Calendars - Parent Teacher Conferences October 14th and 15th
We are excited to welcome parents and families for Parent Teacher Conferences on the evening of Thursday, October 14th and during school hours on Friday, October 15th. Please note that, as has traditionally been the case at Father Doyle, there will be no school on Friday, October 15th to allow for additional conference times.
Scheduling forms will be sent home next week. On the form, families may select between two windows each day: Thursday 3pm-5pm or 6pm-7pm or Friday 7:30-10am or 10am-12pm. A final conference time will be sent home once the schedules have been finalized. Teachers will coordinate with one another for families with students in multiple classes to ensure similar conference times.
FJVD Flu Clinic - Thursday, October 14th, 3-5pm
Families are invited to join us for our Annual Flu Clinic after school on Thursday, October 14th from 3pm-5pm in the school gym. Flu clinic appointment times are flexible, so you can attend Parent Teacher Conferences and receive your annual flu vaccination all in the same afternoon! See the flyer here for more information. Please register online prior to the clinic. Thank you!
Ice Cream! Get Your Ice Cream Here!
Friday ice cream is returning to Father Doyle starting October 1st, and ordering is now easier than ever! For our new families or those unfamiliar with ice cream at Father Doyle, ice cream is served on Fridays to students who have pre-ordered for the month.
You can submit your ice cream orders for the month of October by utilizing the Google Form here. Once you order and ice cream is delivered, you will be billed through your FACTS incidental billing account. No cash, check, or paper exchange necessary! Please contact the school with any questions. All orders are due by September 30th.
Used Uniform Collection
Do you have gently used uniforms you would be willing to donate to the school? Mrs. Jarvis is still accepting gently used uniforms including polos, pants/shorts, gym shirts, and all black shoes. You can drop off any uniform supplies in the main office. Please email Mrs. Jarvis with any questions. Your donations go directly to those students unable to procure uniforms. Thank you for your support!
Health Forms due to Nurse Patti
If you have not already done so, please submit your Returning Student Health Updates 2021-2022 to Nurse Patti. The form can be found here.
Mask Reminder
Please remember to send a few extra masks in your child's backpack each day. Masks may become wet, soiled, or break during the course of the school day, and replacements help ensure clean, dry masks throughout the day.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
