Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that you have managed to stay cool this week as summertime has well and truly arrived! If you haven’t already, please ensure children have water bottles in school, a hat/cap and sun cream.
This week, has been extremely busy. Our Year 4 pupils sat their multiplication tests online and our Year 1 pupils completed their phonics screening assessments. All pupils achieved so highly and we are more than proud of their achievements. Thank you for all parent support over the year building up to this week and a huge thank you to all staff for their commitment and quality first teaching.
Thank you to all parents who attended our reading mornings this week. It was wonderful to see so many adults reading with their children. I know that the children really enjoy having you in school for this special time.
Reading Mornings
Year 6 Residential
For three days, our Year 6s have been to Robinwood on their Residential. They have had a wonderful time overcoming fears and tackling new challenges. Thank you to all staff who took the time to take the children. I know that this experience will stay with them for a lifetime.
Reminders for next week
Sports Week
Next week is our sports week. We will have a focus on all sports, celebrating professional sporting achievements and learning how to be healthy. Every morning, from 8.25 – 8.45 we will be having Zumba sessions on the playground for all parents and children alike. Please do come and join us for as many sessions as you can. It is intended to be fun! As the children will be doing sports each day, they may come in their sports kits and remain in them all day, every day.
Careers Week – 3rd – 6th July
Please do contact me if you can offer us any amount of time during our careers week. I am in the process of organising time slots for people and will finalise over the next week. It is all getting quite exciting! To support the children as they begin to think about their future careers, we have decided to have some fun with wooden spoons! Please see the flier below.
