Mask Requirements - Protocols Continue
Although the CDC has lifted the mask restriction for fully vaccinated adults, we at CSSE will continue requiring all adults and students to remain masked while in the building. Even if all adults are vaccinated, we would rather be safe than sorry when it comes to our kids! It’s only a few more days until school is out!

Are You Called to Help Students Grow in Their Faith?
Dear Community of St. Eugene,
Are you at the point where you're wondering "what next?" Are you searching for a meaningful way to get involved in the school community and work with young students in growing their relationship with God?
St. Eugene is already teaching Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in the Atrium for some of the early grade levels. We are hoping to expand the program to include more students. We need more trained catechists. We need you!
There is adult formation training for this beautiful program this summer. It will be held at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Edmond June 16-19 and 23-26, 9:00-4:30 This is training for Level 1, part 2. You are allowed to participate in this training even if you have not taken Level 1, part 1 yet.
St. Eugene has some funds to pay for this training.
Check the link to the brochure so you can learn more about the program. If you'd like to register please use the link below. Let me know if you have any questions the brochure doesn't answer.
Thank you,
Christie Ardoin

PTO News!
PTO Changes We will not be holding an annual meeting this year with Mrs. Goldsworthy’s recommendation. The 2020-21 PTO board approved the measure to continue in their current positions for the next school year. This rollover will help foster continuity and allow members to fulfill their roles in a non-COVID year. Some roles will be open due to members opting to step down, and roles for classroom/house parents will also be available to fill in the fall. Please see this letter from PTO president, Reem O’Donnell.

Safe Environment - NEW PROCESS - PLEASE REVIEW The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City instituted a new Safe Environment background and training process in July of 2020. Since that time the information on how to complete the process was sent to all employees, volunteers with an active and registered email address, and new volunteers. If you have not received the information but would like to continue your volunteer status please email safeenvironment@steugenes.org and instructions will be emailed to you directly. All current volunteers have until June 1st to complete or will no longer be considered a volunteer in good standing. If you have any other questions about the process please send them to the same address.

Parish News
Looking for Families for the Vocare Chalice! Our church is blessed to have the Vocare Chalice Ministry, through which we pray for those called to serve the church through Vocations. Simply sign up with vocare@steugenes.org, let them know the mass you attend most often, and your family will be put on the rotation to take the Vocare Chalice home for a week at the end of your usual mass. The chalice comes with a prayer book to help guide your family. It’s a simple way to enhance your family’s spiritual life AND increase the number of men and women called to Holy Orders!
Mass is still celebrated daily at St. Eugene, and with the exception of school mass, masses are open for all to come and participate while following COVID precautions. The Archbishop has offered new guidelines this month. The Sunday mass obligation has been restored as of April 24th. The new guidelines can be found at http://archokc.org/returntomass.
Saturday Morning Men's Mass - This Saturday, May 15, 2021, we will continue our Saturday Morning Mass and gathering for the men of the parish. Mass begins at 7:00am in the church, followed by our gathering immediately afterwards in the parish meeting rooms. In this week's gathering we’ll continue The Wild Goose video series. “The Wild Goose” is a work of the Holy Spirit -- an awakening of God’s love and transforming power in the hearts of those participating. A link to the series can be found at https://thewildgooseisloose.com/. Please invite others to join us for Mass and another great discussion, a light breakfast and cup of coffee this Saturday beginning at 7:00 am.

COVID-19 Response and Procedures
My Child is Ill. What Do I Do? Allergies or COVID? Stomach bug or COVID? It can be hard to decipher what ailment might be affecting your child. We have created some graphics and flowcharts to help you navigate what steps to take when your child or someone in your household is feeling unwell. Please report concerns or questions about illness to Mrs. Goldsworthy at principal@steugeneschool.org, and she will consult with our response team - Mrs. O'Connell and Mrs. Rischard. ALWAYS fill out and submit the Absentee Form (or call Ms. Patrick in the office), then notify your child’s homeroom/house teacher each day of absence.
Absences Please use the Absentee Form to report absences AND email your child’s teacher/house homeroom. It is important to communicate why your child is missing school with the teacher and document through the Google form. Please be meticulous in following directions if a child, household member, or close contact has recently tested positive for COVID or is awaiting results of a COVID test. NO ONE IN THE HOUSEHOLD MAY ENTER THE SCHOOL BUILDING if COVID exposure is positive OR in question. Mrs. Goldsworthy MUST clear your household for return to school in all cases where the possibility of COVID is involved. Please send illness updates to Mrs. Goldsworthy.
Screening Questions and Carpool Please remember to have your questions answered DAILY and results ready to show on your phone. Students should be masked, on the passenger side for temp checks, and ready to go as soon as carpool teacher opens the door. bit.ly/FamilyDailyQs
