Greetings Mustang Families,
The time has come to begin completing our Annual FCS School Perception Surveys. These surveys are critical in providing a lens into how our students, staff, and parents feel about our school. You may review perception survey data from 2022 and 2023 at the following link: https://www.fultonschools.org/Page/26660
Be sure to filter the results for Mountain Park. You can also view results for any other school in Fulton County. In 2022, 23% of MPE parents completed the survey. In 2023, 67% of our parents completed the survey. We'd love to get to a 75% participation rate this year, as this makes our data highly reliable.
We will be sending separate emails & texts throughout the survey period. Please take 10-15 minutes to provide feedback.

Career Day at MPE
Mountain Park is excited to announce that we will be celebrating Career Week from March 13 to March 15 this year!
The students will be joining in fun activities such as dress-up days and guest speakers to explore our futures.
We are asking for parent/guardian volunteers to participate in Career Week to help our Mustangs in grades 3-5 learn about various career choices to help them explore their interests, skills, and goals.
We would love for you to be a Career Day presenter on the morning of March 15 to share what you do for a living. Please fill out the form attached and submit to me no later than March 1.

Congratulations Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition Winners
Congratulations to the following students who won the school level competition. Their writing pieces have been forwarded on for the district competition. We are so proud of these young authors!

FLL Robotics Team - WAY TO GO RYAN!
Ryan Thomas (5th Grade - Ms. Brooks) was part of an FLL Robotics Team that competed in the GA -FLL state championship (https://fll.gatech.edu/competitions/state_championship) on 02/10/24. Their team won the state championship and have been selected to represent GA in the FLL World Championship (https://www.firstchampionship.org/) to be held in Houston in April. Ryan was responsible for Robot design, coding, and mission strategy for the team.
The Spring Book Fair Is Almost Here!

School Governance Council Elections
It's election season!! Mountain Park will be seeking 1 parent and 1 teacher to join our School Governance Council. This governing board is responsible for setting and monitoring the strategic direction of our school. We meet once per month for approximately an hour. Our team oversees charter dollar expenditures, approves our school budget, and helps make decisions that directly impact our students and teachers. If you are interested in joining our team, please visit the SGC website to declare your candidacy. Elections will take place in April if we have more than one interested candidate.
International Festival at MPE
At MPE, we believe in the value of honoring and celebrating the many cultures that make up our community. Save the date for our annual International Festival, March 21 from 6:00-7:00 pm in the MPE cafeteria. For the event, families are encouraged to set up booths with pictures, food, or any items that help us learn more about those countries and cultures. It can be your family's country of origin or a place about which your family would like to learn and teach others. Sign up to participate here.
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Registration will begin soon. Now is the time to make sure you are prepared to upload your documents. PDF formats are preferable and can be done with your phone. This is a list of needed Documents.
Required Registration Documents
- Driver’s License or Photo ID (ex. Passport)
- Original State Birth Certificate (not hospital certificate)
- Georgia State Immunization Form (3231)
- Georgia State Hearing, Vision, Dental and Nutrition Forms (3300)
- Hearing, Vision, and Nutrition sections: Pediatrician
- Dental section: Dentist
- Child’s Social Security Card Optional
- Current Proofs of Residency (any from first group, second MUST be a Utility bill)
One of the following:
- Copy of home mortgage payment
- Copy of settlement documents
- Apartment lease showing name of lessee.
- HOA Bill
- Current year tax bill
AND
- One current utility bill (electric, or water only) or receipt to have these connected.
🚗 Transportation Reminders
If for some reason you have not registered with Pick Up Patrol and need a registration link, please send an email to Shannon Anderson at Andersons5@fultonschools.org. Remember, you must submit all transportation changes using the app. The default transportation will be how they normally go home. If your student normally goes home a certain way, there’s no need to enter it on that day. Plan changes are only for when it differs from the default plan. Also, if you need a carpool or walker number, email andersons5@fultonschools.org or call the front office. Thanks so much.

Donuts with Dear Ones
Donuts with Dear Ones is a special event hosted by the MPE PTA each year. You or someone near and dear to your student are invited to come to school between 7:10am and 7:40am to share a donut and a special moment. Please limit the number of special someone's as our parking lot is not designed to accommodate large numbers of people and our cafeteria has limited seating. Below you will find the date your students grade will be available for a donut with their Dear One. Historically each student has brought one Dear One.

Interested in making a difference in our students and teachers lives? Looking for ways to connect to other families and/or teachers? The PTA has open opportunities and is taking interested parties information today!

The Annual Fulton County Parent Survey is open and ready for your input! This survey is very important for identifying the direction of our schools and needs of our students. Each parent should fill out this survey as it provides more data that can be used to address areas for improvement as well as identify what is working for our schools.

Debate Club Is Back!
Ivy Bridge Academy is offering debate and public speaking sessions for 3rd to 5th graders! This is a great way for interested students to build confidence and to learn logic, critical thinking, leadership, and effective communication skills. This is a fun and encouraging group that can really set students on the path to success as they grow! Sessions begin February 8th and are on Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 PM.
