EXCEL-lence
eXpress Respect
Commit to Learn
Lead with Courage
This is for STUDENTS and OUR STAFF!!
Shout out to students that are collecting the maximum number of DOJO points. Parents be sure you are connected to DOJO to track your childs progress on EXCELing. Students can earn up to 5 points for each class for following our values listed above. They are currently working to achieve 500 points to earn the incentive at the end of the quarter. Any points over 500 can be spent in the Dojo store that will be opening soon.
Ownership
Help take your child to the next level where they can see and feel EXCEL-lence by ensuring they bring their ONE Card each day to tap into school, use in the cafeteria and in the media center. Come prepared to class with all materials and a willing attitude and complete all assignments.
Staff stand outs--We want to showcase staff that are standing out in helping SGMS EXCEL. Feel free to email Mrs. Roof with accolades for staff that are going the extra mile . Her email is rooft@gcsnc.com
Scan Station, and ID cards
- We kicked off tapping of one cards on Friday. We do not have 100% of student one cards but please note those that do have their cards should have them daily and use where tapping is available such as school entry, café, media center, dances etc. Students received a sleeve for their one card and WILL NOT be given a lanyard. They may choose to add a lanyard or clip of their choice and we will have some for purchase in the DOJO store as well.
- Scanning is continuing to go well also. Remind students that they must remove any 3 ring binders, glass cases and umbrellas prior to entering the building to keep the flow moving efficiently. If 3 ring binders are not necessary and are not on your Childs class supply list please leave the binders at home.
Responsible Use Course---REQUIRED
All students should complete the Responsible Use Course after they are issued their GCS device. The sooner each grade level has 100% completion rate the sooner computers can move with students throughout the day. Students will not take computers home they will remain in their last core class. Please help instill a sense of respect and responsibility with your child to take care of devices so they can maximize their learning experience. Students may not be on websites or playing music that is not part of the lesson as directed by staff. Your child is also responsible for the care of the device. If the device is damaged in any way they will be liable for damages. Only your child should have their assigned device as they are responsible for it's well being. Please reach out if you have any questions.
