pictures from homecoming week
We've had a great week celebrating Homecoming this week! One more day to go so I'll include more pictures next Thursday of students in our FAHS gear.
We've had some fun besides our spirit dress up days. We had a long jump competition, coloring contest, and a guess the number of candy in the jar competitions. We are so proud of all of our students who took risks and participated in the school spirit activities.
The winners of the competitions will be given gift cards or the candy jar:
- Long Jump: Kristelle Estrada and Rico Terras
- Coloring Contest: Daniel Lantto and Selena Thomas
- Candy in the Jar: Joanna Peralta
attendance information
We know that student attendance is highly linked to success at school. School attendance is mandatory in Minnesota, and parents and school officials are responsible to see that a student attends school. Students are expected to be in school all day, every day. We wish to work along with you to make sure your student has consistent attendance.
To excuse your student, please call 651-604-3800. Any absences that are not called in are considered unexcused.
The only legally valid excuses for absences or tardies are:
- Report of illness or sent home sick from school by health office (school may request medical verification)
- Doctor’s appointment - includes medical, dental, orthodontic, or counseling
- Religious holiday / instruction
- Extreme family emergency
- Death or serious illness or funeral of an immediate family member
- Child has a condition that requires ongoing treatment for a mental health diagnosis
Some unacceptable reasons (unexcused) for being absent or tardy are:
1. Staying home to baby-sit
2. Oversleeping
3. Missed the bus
4. Cold weather
5. A child is needed at home
