Band Buzz: November 27, 2022

The boys tuxedos and girls dresses were issued before the Thanksgiving Break. If anyone (boy or girl) has not received their concert uniform, please come to the uniform room on Tuesday November 29 after school at 2:45 to get your tuxedo or dress.

As a reminder, the boys tuxedos are new this year and the pants will be extra long and have an “unfinished” hem, so each boy will need to have his pants hemmed. We will not have a tailor come in to do any hemming, so you will need to either hem them at home or take the pants to a tailor to have them hemmed at your own expense. TA Tailor & Alterations will hem them for $7 if you tell them you are with the Clear Lake Band. Their address is 122 W. Bay Area Blvd. Webster, TX 77598 (in the shopping center at Hwy 3 and Bay Area anchored by Cookshack on one end and Dollar Tree on the other). Regardless of who you use to have the pants hemmed, please tell them to NOT CUT THE FABRIC when doing the hem.

To complete their concert uniform, each boy will need to provide his own white dress shirt or tuxedo shirt, black bow-tie and cummerbund, and black dress shoes and socks. They may use their black marching shoes for their concert uniforms. Amazon is a good source for bow-tie and cummerbund sets.

To complete their concert uniform, the girls will need a pair of black flats or dress shoes with heels no higher than 2”.

MARCHING UNIFORM FINAL WASH AND RETURN - PICTURE DAY DECEMBER 7

Picture day (Wednesday, December 7) is the last time the kids will need their marching uniforms for the year. The kids should bring their full uniforms (bibbers, long-sleeve top, and shako) to school on picture day, and turn in the bibbers and shako after they have their picture made in class (the long-sleeve top is theirs to keep). The bibbers must be clean when they are turned in after pictures, so please make sure everything has been washed since the last football game.

Students auditioning for region band will need to provide their own transportation to and from Clear Creek HS. Phases will be determined on Monday and information will be given to students regarding exact dates and times for their individual waves. The audition process will go this Friday, Saturday and conclude on Monday December 5.
