Smart Tags for Bus Riders
PARENTS - IF YOUR CHILD HAS A NEW BACKPACK THIS YEAR, PLEASE FIND THE SMART TAG THAT WAS PLACED ON THEIR BACKPACK LAST YEAR. THIS WILL SAVE US TIME AND THE EXPENSE OF PRINTING NEW TAGS.
For new students - New tags will be printed for all new students. These will be attached to your child's backpack and must be accessed each time they load and unload the bus.
Beginning of the Year Frequently Asked Questions
4:30-5:15PM - Students who have last names beginning with the letters A-L
5:30-6:15PM - Students who have last names beginning with the letters M-Z
2. Can I walk my child to to the classroom on the first day of school? Yes. The campus will be open for parents to walk to the classroom on the first day of school. We ask that all students walk to class on their own on the second day of school. There will be staff members helping students if they need to find their classroom.
3. When can I eat lunch with my child? The first two weeks of school are critical for learning about the classroom, halls restrooms, recess, lunch, and specials classes. This is important for setting procedural and safety procedures. We are limiting visitors until Wednesday, August 23rd. Parents are welcome to sign up to eat lunch with their child.
4. How do I make changes to my child's afternoon transportation? The best way to change transportation is with a note given to the teacher prior to instruction beginning for the day. It's best if you send a note to school with your child.
If you are not able to send note, you can contact our receptionist, Bettzy Aguilar. This change must be made prior to 1:30PM. You can email at betaguilar@conroeisd.net.
Please do not email your child's teacher during the school day as they may not read it until after school.
5. How will I find out my child's daily schedule? Your child's teacher will communicate this on or before the first day of school.
6. Can I send a water bottle with my child? Yes. We encourage this. Please ensure your child's name is on the water bottle.
7. What if my child leaves their lunch at home? You can drop off the lunch at the front desk. We will get it to your child before their lunch.
8. What if my child leaves their homework or project at home? You can drop it off at the front desk. We will place it in the teacher's box. We are unable to take this to the child's classroom during instruction.
9. How much are lunches this year?
Lunch costs $3.20 and breakfast is $2.00.
Free and reduced meal information and application can be found at: https://www.conroeisd.net/department/child-nutrition/

Biker-Walker Dismissal Parent Reminders:
Below are some reminders regarding Biker-Walker Dismissal Procedures:
· Stewart classroom instruction stops at 3:10 PM. Stewart Biker-Walker dismissal begins at 3:12 PM.
· Pick up for Biker Walker is right past the bike racks in the back parking lot employee entrance doors.
· Only families that live within walking distance from their house to the school may be eligible to sign up for Biker-Walker. The only eligible 7 neighborhoods within the school community are the ones that live on the same side of Woodforest as Stewart is located (Kinnerly Peak, Forest Heights, Greatwood, Chesswood, Muirfield Pointe, Pinnacle Ridge, and Biltmore). These eligible neighborhoods cannot ride the bus like our other neighborhoods in our Stewart school community.
· For grades Kinder to 1st, please remember to have your Biker-Walker Tag viewable. If you forgot or cannot find your Biker-Walker tag, please be prepared to show a Stewart staff member your driver’s license so that we can verify that you’re a person that can pick up your student.
· Grades 2nd to 6th students may walk or ride their bike home by themselves.
If you want your younger siblings in grades K to 1st to walk or ride their bikes home with their older sibling, each family must fill out and sign a Biker-Walker Permission Release form. This form must be turned into the school. You can pick up this form on "Meet the Teacher", the first day of school, or you can access the form at this link. Please see the link below:
For severe weather days, biker/walker students will be dismissed with the car riders. All biker/walker students will be dismissed as a car rider. Parents will need to bring either their biker/walker school issued sign or their car rider school issued sign. The weather in Texas changes quickly during the day. We try to call for a "Severe Weather Day" dismissal by 2:45 PM. We will notify you by email and text.
