HOMECOMING (HOCO) 2023
Dress Up Days: We encourage all of our students and staff to participate in our HOCO dress up days. The theme for each day is listed below.
Parade & Candlelight Pep Rally: At CCHS, we have a long-standing tradition of coming together during Homecoming Week to celebrate all the great things about being a Wildcat. On Wednesday, September 27th at 6:45 p.m. we will host a parade featuring our clubs, organizations, extracurricular, and co-curricular groups. Together, we make our way to Veteran’s Stadium to join in the Annual Candlelight Pep Rally. We end with the playing of our school song at dusk and candles in the shape of the mighty CCHS lighting up the night. We encourage all Wildcats and our community to come out and participate!
Carnival: On Friday, September 29th the CCHS Courtyard will transform into a festive carnival atmosphere. Our booster clubs and various student organizations will have booths set up with delicious food, games, and wearable items that will be for sale during our extended lunch period, taking place from 10:40-12:10. Tickets are $1 each and will be available that Friday before school and during the carnival. Items range between $1 and $20 and must be paid using tickets. Below is a list of items available for purchase. The cafeteria is available for regular lunch as well. We do not allow parent visitors during the Carnival other than those that have been pre-approved to help at booths.
Pep Rally: Our Homecoming pep rally will take place at the end of the day Friday, September 29th in Carlisle Field House. We will allow visitors during this pep rally, but they must check in through the front office (parking will be limited). Students who do not wish to participate in the pep rally will be monitored in the main cafeteria.

CCISD Bond/VATRE Information
This November, CCISD is asking voters to consider three items on the ballot:
- A voter Approval Tax Rate Election
- $302 Million bond for school improvements
- $37 Million instructional technology bond
Attached below is a detailed list of the over $11 million in improvements that CCHS stands to receive if the bonds are approved. Click Here for more information. Voting is Tuesday, November 7th.
CCISD Impact Aid Survey
CCISD is conducting its annual Impact Aid survey. The federal Impact Aid statute is intended to provide financial relief to school districts that are impacted by activities of the federal government. Most Impact Aid funds are considered general aid to the recipient school districts; districts may use the funds in whatever manner they choose in accordance with local and State requirements. School districts may use Impact Aid for a wide variety of expenses, including the salaries of teachers and teacher aides; purchasing textbooks, computers, and other equipment; after-school programs and remedial tutoring; advanced placement classes; and special enrichment programs.
We are asking that parents fill out the Impact Aid form and return it to the front desk by October 10, 2023. Students will be receiving a hard copy of the form next week, but a copy is attached if you wish to print and send it in.
Attendance & Absence Notes
Student attendance in every class every day is crucial to their academic success. Compulsory attendance laws require a student to attend each class at least 90 percent of the days it is offered in order to receive credit or a final grade in a class.
If a student is absent, a parent/guardian must provide a note showing the dates and an explanation for any absence within three (3) days after the student’s arrival or return to school. If this note is not sent within the allocated three (3) days, the absence will be unexcused.
Absence notifications can also be submitted through Skyward Family Access under Attendance and Absence Requests. These notifications are still required to be submitted within three days after the student's arrival or return to campus, but they can also be submitted in advance.
2023 College & Career Fair
The Clear Creek ISD College and Career Fair will be on October 11, 2023, and the Career and Technical Education Department would be excited if you would join us as a volunteer on the Career Fair side of the event! This district-wide event will be held at the CCISD Education Village located at 4380 Village Way in League City on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 6:00-8:00pm.
Students and their parents will have an opportunity to learn about various career options from adult volunteers willing to answer questions about their occupation. As a volunteer, you will talk to students and parents about the education requirements, salary ranges, licenses/certifications needed for your profession and more! You are welcome and encouraged to bring brochures or handouts, table décor, and giveaway items.

Reflections Contest
Reflections has been a staple arts program in many schools for over 50 years. Through the efforts of our Local PTAs, millions of students have found a creative outlet in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.
With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story.
Click Here for more information. Physical entries are also available in the Creek library. The student or at least one person from their primary household must be a current member of the Local PTA/PTSA where the student is participating.
