Message from the Superintendent
We know that the news about what is happening in the Middle East is distressing for many in our community. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this. Given the personal connections and our environment of fast-flowing information, we know that a number of children may be uncertain about how to process what they are hearing and seeing and are unable to verbalize what they are feeling. Children often rely upon adults at home and in their schools to help them navigate their emotions in a safe and productive way.
If you have any specific concerns related to your child, please reach out to your child’s teacher, principal, or other school staff. Our clinicians are another resource to our students so please do not hesitate to reach out.

National Principal Appreciation Month
Thank you to our Principals and Assistant Principals for their dedication and commitment to our schools, students and staff. Each and every day they shoulder the responsibility for the learning, safety and wellness of those in their care. They serve their communities with endless enthusiasm, patience and grace. I am honored to work beside them and I hope that everyone takes a moment to say a big “THANK YOU.”

Full Day Kindergarten Updates
A web page has been created to help provide the District 41 community with information throughout the full day kindergarten addition project. The district plans to open the 12 classroom addition at Churchill School in the fall of 2025. The webpage includes an overview of the project and links to communications that have been shared. Updates and information will be posted on the website regularly.
This is a timely project as the State of Illinois recently passed a bill requiring districts to offer full day kindergarten. Half day kindergarten will still be available at each of the elementary schools. If a family would like full day kindergarten they will attend the full day kindergarten center located at Churchill School.
